This template PowerPoint presentation
includes all the relevant elements you
need to cover in your Music Video
Assignment
It is suggested you save this PP in a
different name – some sections
require you to delete the information
on the slide and replace with your own
work
Add more pages to each section
where necessary [you should be doing
this!]
Add visuals as you see necessary
This document will be added to as you
progress through the pre-production
phase.
The biggest tip is that if you say you
want to do something, or a
techniques, etc, say WHY you have
chosen to do this. Always EXPLAIN
your thinking.

TASK 1
Idea
Generation and
Research
RESEARCH & IDEA
GENERATION
Select a song/track that you like [or don’t like!]
Generate three ideas for music videos
employing styles, techniques and conventions
that we have looked at in previous sessions.
Explore how you could interpret the song
differently using different methods
You can add any extra info you think is
relevant, images, mind maps, etc
For quick mind maps you could use bubbl.us
to generate these
Idea generation is a personal thing, it might
not fit neatly into this proforma, so use it as a
guide, but add, adjust and amend as needed. I
just need to see your thought process and how
your ideas.
RESEARCH
Watch a selection of videos to get your ideas started,
make note of a minimum of 3 – add extra slides,
screenshot the video and in bullet point note down info
in terms of camera, editing, art design, performance, etc
and how this might link to your production. This can be
pulled from your case study
Hint!
You’ve already done this in
your case study, so you can
summarise that here where
relevant
IDEA GENERATION
POTENTIAL SONGS
Oliver Twist
The music video is fast paced and is energetic making it entertaining.
He uses close ups angles and far away to give the video a dynamic
effect. It’s a unique song with lots of different viewpoints. The song has
a typical rap style to it but can also be used in a different setting and
can match something different.
Jiggy (Whiz)
The music video has a lot of fast cuts that match with the beat. This
creates a energetic setting that engages the viewer. It’s a creative song
with a lot of repetition which means some clips can be reused. The
song is quite simple the lyrics are not that complicated and the pace of
the song isn’t to fast so its quite simple to film clips to.
Shut up
The music is a solid pace and the lyrics are at a moderate place and
simple. The song can be interpretated in many different ways to a
casual beat/song to a more energetic version.
POTENTIAL TECHNIQUES
. Using different camera angles will create a dynamic feel to the video
making it more entertaining to watch this also creates different
viewpoints of the video meaning you have your own way of watching.
Close up shots can be used to match a faster pace beat and longer
shots can be used with the lyrics to tell a story or be used to a slower
pace song. Uses fast pace editing to the beat will create a rhythm to the
music video making it more engaging for the viewer to watch. Having
smooth transitions between each shot to make the music video flow
better. Using long shots can help make the video feel more like a story
as you can hold a long shot for longer depending on the lyrics. Adding
effects to add narrative in the music video which adds more excitement
to it. Having different lighting you have high key lighting will not show
shadows of the people in the video but a low key lighting will give the
video a darker effect.
.
MUSIC VIDEO CONVENTIONS
YOU PLAN TO USE
This could be lip sync, beat editing, montage, narrative,
performance, dance, etc, etc
. Using a fast pace editing style to create a more entertaining music
video. To have some long shots to create a dynamic feel instead of just
the same distance shots this also creates the video more visually
interesting to the viewer. Smooth transitions between long and short
shots. Editing to the beat and having the transitions match up. Editing
the colors to make it darker or change the color completely to
something that might give the video a better look. Another thing is
keeping the camera stationary while the camera is following something.
Edit the colour of the video to make lights have a different colour or
create a darker atmosphere. People can use lyric interpretation in a way
to watch a music video this gives people their own view of what they
think it means. This may be based around the visuals produced as well
as their own interpretation of the lyrics.
MIND MAP OF IDEAS
[SUMMARY OF IDEAS]
SUMMARY
5 opportunities of your ideas
. Shooting in a light environment and then editing around
that in premiere pro
. Editing in a slow to medium paced style to match the
beat.
. To be able to shoot some long shots and then editing
that in with close ups.
. To see what transitions, work between each shot.
. To changing the colour of the lighting in premiere.
SUMMARY
5 restrictions to your ideas
. Needs to be shot
. hard to get different background with the same/good
lighting
. The editing style needs to match to the beat.
. Smooth transitions might be hard to do if the lighting is
different
. Long shots might be hard to shoot as its in a forest
type environment.
FINAL IDEA –
ARTIST/TITLE/INFO
Name of track / name of artist
Brief biographical background
Links to other artists
Genre info
FINAL IDEA – TRACK
SUMMARY
Summary/analysis of track [consider meaning, content,
duration, pace and style of the song]
The song is about all the work he has done and how music is changing his life.
The song also shows how now he wants to make more music he doesn’t want to
mess about with people he just wants to produce more music and get more of his
songs on the charts. The song also has a side of it where you can tell he doesn’t
really care about what he is doing and what ever he wants to do he will do it. The
song is just under 3 minuets long and the pace is decently fast paced with a
unique style to it for example he shot it on a beach instead of a gritty dark place.
FINAL IDEA – YOUR IDEA
Your creative concept/video synopsis [describe your
interpretation, use of imagery or narrative, genre
conventions, etc]
My interpretation is that it should be in a dark background with low light as the
narrative is about how he deservers where he is and how he got to where he is in
his career was though taking risks. You have the typical rapper music video
clothing like tracksuits and jewellery. You have rapping towards the camera or a
long shot of something letting the music play out. You have the visual aspect of it
to showing what ever is being said in the lyrics.
TASK 2
Pre-production
Assessment
GUIDANC
E:
PRE-
PRODUCT
ION
ASSESSM
ENT
You need to assess the viability of your production and
investigate what is required to enable you to make your
music video
Much of this task is hypothetical, which means you will
need to investigate standard costings for such a
production and apply these to your planned production
considering which equipment you would need and
resources, etc
Resources to support this are in the Pre-production
assessment folder on Blackboard
Delete the questions on each slide and insert your
responses
TITLE OF
PRODUCTION/PRODUC
TION OUTLINE
Summary of intended production
Detail here what you are going to
make and the intended outcome
Detailed breakdown of the music
track chosen and your interpretation
of it [remember the questions in the
workbook, e.g.
pace/mood/tone/structure]
Specific outline your intended
technical/equipment requirements
Include any details that you think
[you could use material from your
pitch]
LOCATIONS
You need to identify locations and plan a recce of where
you would like to film. What back up options do you
have? List it all.
A wood type forest environment. In a light up place
What are the limitations and risks, eg distance, access,
cost, weather? How will you manage this?
If the day I decide to shoot starts to rain I will have to change to a different day to
go around this.
Need to film on a dry day as its in the woods things can be wet and slippery.
EQUIPMENT
What do you need? E.g. equipment, resources? Mostly
from college, but who do you need to speak to get this
kit? What is available? When?
Look at equipment hire places, etc
Might need something to keep the camera balance while moving.
FACILITIES
You will most likely edit at college, but do you need any
other specialist facilities…? Green screen, studio, etc
Filming outside in a wood type environment no need for
a studio or a green screen.
PERSONNEL
CREW: What is you team? Who is in it? What are each
team members strengths/weaknesses? When are they
available?
CAST: Do you need any external performers? When are
they available? Cost implications? Will you have to feed
them? Transport them?
Other personnel? Is anyone else helping you?
I have someone who is going to lip sync the song and I
have some basic camera skills to film the music video.
PROPS/COSTUME/ETC
TASK 3.1
Visual Planning
PRE-PRODUCTION:
VISUAL PLANNING
This section is concerned with the visual planning of your
music video
You should use this section to develop the sequencing or your
video, establish the relationship between the visuals and the
track itself and create a structure for you to follow when
filming
It is important that you ‘pre-visualise’ the video before you
make it; it will make filming and production a more
streamlined process
The following tasks are part of your visual planning
 Pre-visualisation and concept boards
 Storyboarding
 Shot list
PRE-
VISUALISATION/CONC
EPT BOARDS
Tool for exploring the direction and visuals
Provides inspiration and information for the “look & feel”
Presents key moments in your video
A means to sketch/plan ideas
Information on colour/lighting
Defining the “mise-en-scene”
Include as much here as you like, but keep it relevant to the
production, the following slides have been left blank for you to
approach in your own way, add more as you need to
Extension suggestion: edit a short sequence of clips that have
inspired or influenced your video [similar to this:
http://io9.com/5941145/this-directors-video-pitch-for-hunger-
games-might-be-better-than-the-real-movie]
STRUCTU
RAL
BREAKDO
WN
Breakdown your track into it basic sections [e.g.
intro, verse, chorus, verse, etc] and apply broad
visual ideas to each section
You can use this as the master template for your
production, then add more shots to each section
when you develop your full visual plan
You should create a slide showing all the sections
of the song, then add a slide for each section with
timings, lyrics, what happens and details on
specific shots
You could storyboard and shot list each section
as you go, to break up the process.
STORYBOAR
DING
Your storyboard should bring your idea to
life
Provide an idea of the sequencing of you
video
Provides a basis for production
Suggested online storyboard creators are:
 http://www.pixton.com [very
complicated]
 http://www.storyjumper.com [allows you
to insert your own images]
Alternatively, hand draw or photograph
your storyboard and scan or copy to insert
it onto your slides
There are lots of tips collected together on
Blackboard!

STRUCTURAL BREAKDOWNS
Chores
I just wanted some more, Oliver Twist (more?) ------ close up with action
Think I didn’t take risk to get to this ‘sitch? Don’t take the piss (nah) ------ keeping the
close up with a different action
I’ve been scummy, I admit, I did what I did, but I deserve this ----- slowly zooming out
That’s why the bottle got popped at six (and then?) ------ zooming back in again
And I’ll holla one thot by the evening ----- keeping a good distance between me and
the camera
I used to think I’m just dreaming – zooming closer in and doing a action.
First Verse
Now I’m up and my ex-girl’s all in her feelings ----- long shot standing still
Its too late, darlin’ cause that ship is sailed away from your reaching ----- slowly
moving the camera forward
Ain’t one for preaching ------ walking about with the camera stationary
But I've come a long way from all the rules I was breaching ----- moving closer to the
camera
Some lessons, there aint no teaching (nah) ----- walking closer with a action
Gotta do it and learn for yourself, I never did want no help ------ slowly moving the
camera away while walking towards the camera
Biggz just told me he's worrying ‘bout my health ----- a action to match the lyrics
while the camera is at a close up
cause I've had four pints and three shots of rum and its half past-twelve ------ action
showing 12 while the camera stays stationary
In the afternoon, not the morning, told him its evening time somewhere else
In the world ----- camera slowly zooming in half way through the lyrics
Plus, how you think I've made it so lit?
I mean besides the fact I'm the shit ----- action matching the lyrics with the camera
STRUCTURAL BREAKDOWNS
Verse 2
Now dreaming's the way I be scheming ------ medium shot coming close to the
camera
Manifested, now I'm succeedin’ ---- cuts to a close up with a action
I've read the secret, I know the meaning --- cuts to back to a medium distance with
the camera station
You want more? You don’t get there pleadin’, bruv ---- keeping the camera station
with a action to match the lyrics
Fight for your own cause, kicking and screamin’ (trust) --- walking around with the
camera following me
cause I come from the shore, but the poor part
All you see is creackheads fiendin’
Mans smokin’ weed and
All the guys from dem sides comin’ down OT, dealin’ ------ keeping the camera
stationary and doing some actions to the lyrics
I push all her buttons, I pull strings
I've got her hooked and due to be reelin’ ------ starting to walk towards the camera
I aint faking a thing but
You should take what I say with a pinch of salt (trust me) ---- close up with a action
to fit the lyrics
cause I find shit funny ---- cuts make to a medium shot
But that’s cause you laugh in times of no hope
That’s how I learned to cope ----- me walking towards the camera for the chores

PRODUCTION GROUP INFO
Include names, contact info, and defined roles at
difference stages of production, using a table is
suggested

LOCATION
INFORMAT
ION
Information and images of your
location[s] for filming
You should have address details,
clearance/premissions for filming,
recce photos and floorplans
[including camera, equipment and
cast/crew layouts]
Where possible, have a plan B
fallback location option
Assess each location for any issues
and suggest solutions
LOCATIONS
Piccadilly Yard Car park
City of York Council
Coppergate Centre
Piccadilly
York
YO1 9NX
It’s a car park in the middle of York. At
night there might be less people. Even
though I am filming at night the car park is
will lit up.
I could also walk around the area see if I
can find some nice places to film that will
go well with the music video.
RISK
ASSESSM
ENT
Risk Assess each separate filming
location using the table in the
camera H&S PP on Bb as a staring
point
Completing a generic filming
assessment would be a start, then
you can add specialist/site specific
risks as you progress your
production
Remember, a Risk Assessment is an
ongoing document, you should
evaluate if anything changes in
production and when you put
control measures in place
You should add the table to each
call sheet for each location
RISK ASSESSMENT
. Busy car park – As its in the middle of York I could be quite busy so you could
get hit by a car a way to prevent this is to go at a off peak time so maybe at night
or a weekday.
. Lighting – The lighting in the car park might not work so I might have to bring
by own lighting.
. Weather – If I wanted to shoot outside of the carpark I would have to make sure
its not raining a way around this is to check for rain a few days before I film so If I
need to change it to a dry day I can.
. The camera could be dropped while filming a way to prevent this is to keep it in
a safe case until you mount it onto a tripod.
CONTINGENCY
PLANNING
Things go wrong
Your contingency plan is there to give you a
backup or to minimize the effect on
production
You should consider the following areas:
Technical, Location, Personnel and
Organizational areas [about 5 potential issues
for each]
Use the form in pre-production folder on
Blackboard
CONTINGENCY PLAN
. Camera dies while filming this would mean I could no longer film a easy
solution for this would be to bring a extra battery. Also making sure my camera is
fully charged before and go and film.
. I might need someone to help me film so if they are busy on the day I have to
film I might not be able to get the best footage a way around this is to find a time
that works well or find another person.
. The location where I want to film might be really busy this would mean I
couldn’t really film in that location or I would have to find a different time to do it.
. My location might be close at certain times so I might have to see what times I
can film and if I can even film at night. There is also the possibility I cant film
there at all and I would have to changed location on the day to a different one.
PRODUCTION SCHEDULE
Your schedule should budget a total of 10 hours for
production, that is for the filming and editing of your
project.
You should plan when you’re filming and how you intend
to use the in class days on your timetable/class schedule
SCHEDULE
On the 25th of October I am going to go film in car park
then maybe have a look around for some other locations
to see if I want any additional footage then I will go over
all my footage to see if I have missed anything.
On the 1st of November I will start editing all the
footage.
CLEARANCE AND
PERMISSIONS
Any place you film and anyone you use in the
filming of your video must have a completed form
Blank forms are available for you to complete and
insert here, you can also create your own

Mv production assignment form 2021

  • 2. GUIDANC E This template PowerPoint presentation includes all the relevant elements you need to cover in your Music Video Assignment It is suggested you save this PP in a different name – some sections require you to delete the information on the slide and replace with your own work Add more pages to each section where necessary [you should be doing this!] Add visuals as you see necessary This document will be added to as you progress through the pre-production phase. The biggest tip is that if you say you want to do something, or a techniques, etc, say WHY you have chosen to do this. Always EXPLAIN your thinking. Delete this slide when complete
  • 4. RESEARCH & IDEA GENERATION Select a song/track that you like [or don’t like!] Generate three ideas for music videos employing styles, techniques and conventions that we have looked at in previous sessions. Explore how you could interpret the song differently using different methods You can add any extra info you think is relevant, images, mind maps, etc For quick mind maps you could use bubbl.us to generate these Idea generation is a personal thing, it might not fit neatly into this proforma, so use it as a guide, but add, adjust and amend as needed. I just need to see your thought process and how your ideas.
  • 5. RESEARCH Watch a selection of videos to get your ideas started, make note of a minimum of 3 – add extra slides, screenshot the video and in bullet point note down info in terms of camera, editing, art design, performance, etc and how this might link to your production. This can be pulled from your case study Hint! You’ve already done this in your case study, so you can summarise that here where relevant
  • 7. POTENTIAL SONGS Oliver Twist The music video is fast paced and is energetic making it entertaining. He uses close ups angles and far away to give the video a dynamic effect. It’s a unique song with lots of different viewpoints. The song has a typical rap style to it but can also be used in a different setting and can match something different. Jiggy (Whiz) The music video has a lot of fast cuts that match with the beat. This creates a energetic setting that engages the viewer. It’s a creative song with a lot of repetition which means some clips can be reused. The song is quite simple the lyrics are not that complicated and the pace of the song isn’t to fast so its quite simple to film clips to. Shut up The music is a solid pace and the lyrics are at a moderate place and simple. The song can be interpretated in many different ways to a casual beat/song to a more energetic version.
  • 8. POTENTIAL TECHNIQUES . Using different camera angles will create a dynamic feel to the video making it more entertaining to watch this also creates different viewpoints of the video meaning you have your own way of watching. Close up shots can be used to match a faster pace beat and longer shots can be used with the lyrics to tell a story or be used to a slower pace song. Uses fast pace editing to the beat will create a rhythm to the music video making it more engaging for the viewer to watch. Having smooth transitions between each shot to make the music video flow better. Using long shots can help make the video feel more like a story as you can hold a long shot for longer depending on the lyrics. Adding effects to add narrative in the music video which adds more excitement to it. Having different lighting you have high key lighting will not show shadows of the people in the video but a low key lighting will give the video a darker effect. .
  • 9. MUSIC VIDEO CONVENTIONS YOU PLAN TO USE This could be lip sync, beat editing, montage, narrative, performance, dance, etc, etc . Using a fast pace editing style to create a more entertaining music video. To have some long shots to create a dynamic feel instead of just the same distance shots this also creates the video more visually interesting to the viewer. Smooth transitions between long and short shots. Editing to the beat and having the transitions match up. Editing the colors to make it darker or change the color completely to something that might give the video a better look. Another thing is keeping the camera stationary while the camera is following something. Edit the colour of the video to make lights have a different colour or create a darker atmosphere. People can use lyric interpretation in a way to watch a music video this gives people their own view of what they think it means. This may be based around the visuals produced as well as their own interpretation of the lyrics.
  • 10. MIND MAP OF IDEAS [SUMMARY OF IDEAS]
  • 11. SUMMARY 5 opportunities of your ideas . Shooting in a light environment and then editing around that in premiere pro . Editing in a slow to medium paced style to match the beat. . To be able to shoot some long shots and then editing that in with close ups. . To see what transitions, work between each shot. . To changing the colour of the lighting in premiere.
  • 12. SUMMARY 5 restrictions to your ideas . Needs to be shot . hard to get different background with the same/good lighting . The editing style needs to match to the beat. . Smooth transitions might be hard to do if the lighting is different . Long shots might be hard to shoot as its in a forest type environment.
  • 13. FINAL IDEA – ARTIST/TITLE/INFO Name of track / name of artist Brief biographical background Links to other artists Genre info
  • 14. FINAL IDEA – TRACK SUMMARY Summary/analysis of track [consider meaning, content, duration, pace and style of the song] The song is about all the work he has done and how music is changing his life. The song also shows how now he wants to make more music he doesn’t want to mess about with people he just wants to produce more music and get more of his songs on the charts. The song also has a side of it where you can tell he doesn’t really care about what he is doing and what ever he wants to do he will do it. The song is just under 3 minuets long and the pace is decently fast paced with a unique style to it for example he shot it on a beach instead of a gritty dark place.
  • 15. FINAL IDEA – YOUR IDEA Your creative concept/video synopsis [describe your interpretation, use of imagery or narrative, genre conventions, etc] My interpretation is that it should be in a dark background with low light as the narrative is about how he deservers where he is and how he got to where he is in his career was though taking risks. You have the typical rapper music video clothing like tracksuits and jewellery. You have rapping towards the camera or a long shot of something letting the music play out. You have the visual aspect of it to showing what ever is being said in the lyrics.
  • 17. GUIDANC E: PRE- PRODUCT ION ASSESSM ENT You need to assess the viability of your production and investigate what is required to enable you to make your music video Much of this task is hypothetical, which means you will need to investigate standard costings for such a production and apply these to your planned production considering which equipment you would need and resources, etc Resources to support this are in the Pre-production assessment folder on Blackboard Delete the questions on each slide and insert your responses
  • 18. TITLE OF PRODUCTION/PRODUC TION OUTLINE Summary of intended production Detail here what you are going to make and the intended outcome Detailed breakdown of the music track chosen and your interpretation of it [remember the questions in the workbook, e.g. pace/mood/tone/structure] Specific outline your intended technical/equipment requirements Include any details that you think [you could use material from your pitch]
  • 19. LOCATIONS You need to identify locations and plan a recce of where you would like to film. What back up options do you have? List it all. A wood type forest environment. In a light up place What are the limitations and risks, eg distance, access, cost, weather? How will you manage this? If the day I decide to shoot starts to rain I will have to change to a different day to go around this. Need to film on a dry day as its in the woods things can be wet and slippery.
  • 20. EQUIPMENT What do you need? E.g. equipment, resources? Mostly from college, but who do you need to speak to get this kit? What is available? When? Look at equipment hire places, etc Might need something to keep the camera balance while moving.
  • 21. FACILITIES You will most likely edit at college, but do you need any other specialist facilities…? Green screen, studio, etc Filming outside in a wood type environment no need for a studio or a green screen.
  • 22. PERSONNEL CREW: What is you team? Who is in it? What are each team members strengths/weaknesses? When are they available? CAST: Do you need any external performers? When are they available? Cost implications? Will you have to feed them? Transport them? Other personnel? Is anyone else helping you? I have someone who is going to lip sync the song and I have some basic camera skills to film the music video.
  • 25. PRE-PRODUCTION: VISUAL PLANNING This section is concerned with the visual planning of your music video You should use this section to develop the sequencing or your video, establish the relationship between the visuals and the track itself and create a structure for you to follow when filming It is important that you ‘pre-visualise’ the video before you make it; it will make filming and production a more streamlined process The following tasks are part of your visual planning  Pre-visualisation and concept boards  Storyboarding  Shot list
  • 26. PRE- VISUALISATION/CONC EPT BOARDS Tool for exploring the direction and visuals Provides inspiration and information for the “look & feel” Presents key moments in your video A means to sketch/plan ideas Information on colour/lighting Defining the “mise-en-scene” Include as much here as you like, but keep it relevant to the production, the following slides have been left blank for you to approach in your own way, add more as you need to Extension suggestion: edit a short sequence of clips that have inspired or influenced your video [similar to this: http://io9.com/5941145/this-directors-video-pitch-for-hunger- games-might-be-better-than-the-real-movie]
  • 27. STRUCTU RAL BREAKDO WN Breakdown your track into it basic sections [e.g. intro, verse, chorus, verse, etc] and apply broad visual ideas to each section You can use this as the master template for your production, then add more shots to each section when you develop your full visual plan You should create a slide showing all the sections of the song, then add a slide for each section with timings, lyrics, what happens and details on specific shots You could storyboard and shot list each section as you go, to break up the process.
  • 28. STORYBOAR DING Your storyboard should bring your idea to life Provide an idea of the sequencing of you video Provides a basis for production Suggested online storyboard creators are:  https://www.storyboardthat.com  http://www.pixton.com [very complicated]  http://www.storyjumper.com [allows you to insert your own images] Alternatively, hand draw or photograph your storyboard and scan or copy to insert it onto your slides There are lots of tips collected together on Blackboard!

I mean besides the fact I'm the shit ----- action matching the lyrics with the camera
  • 31. STRUCTURAL BREAKDOWNS Verse 2 Now dreaming's the way I be scheming ------ medium shot coming close to the camera Manifested, now I'm succeedin’ ---- cuts to a close up with a action I've read the secret, I know the meaning --- cuts to back to a medium distance with the camera station You want more? • 32. Intro to the song. Long shot then going to go closer up Slowly moving in going into the first chores. Close up for the first chores Start of the first verse. Long shot Cuts to a close up mid way through the first verse. End of the first verse. Start of the second chores. Medium length shot. Walking In a straight line with the camera following. Start of the second verse. Slowly moving towards the camera Mid to end of the second verse. Last chores starting to walk to the left with the camera stationary. Outro walking off the shot to finish the song.
  • 35. PRODUCTION GROUP INFO Include names, contact info, and defined roles at difference stages of production, using a table is suggested Scott mandis – actor/director – scott- mandis@student.yorkcollege.ac.uk
  • 36. LOCATION INFORMAT ION Information and images of your location[s] for filming You should have address details, clearance/premissions for filming, recce photos and floorplans [including camera, equipment and cast/crew layouts] Where possible, have a plan B fallback location option Assess each location for any issues and suggest solutions
  • 37. LOCATIONS Piccadilly Yard Car park City of York Council Coppergate Centre Piccadilly York YO1 9NX It’s a car park in the middle of York. At night there might be less people. Even though I am filming at night the car park is will lit up. I could also walk around the area see if I can find some nice places to film that will go well with the music video.
  • 38. RISK ASSESSM ENT Risk Assess each separate filming location using the table in the camera H&S PP on Bb as a staring point Completing a generic filming assessment would be a start, then you can add specialist/site specific risks as you progress your production Remember, a Risk Assessment is an ongoing document, you should evaluate if anything changes in production and when you put control measures in place You should add the table to each call sheet for each location
  • 39. RISK ASSESSMENT . Busy car park – As its in the middle of York I could be quite busy so you could get hit by a car a way to prevent this is to go at a off peak time so maybe at night or a weekday. . Lighting – The lighting in the car park might not work so I might have to bring by own lighting. . Weather – If I wanted to shoot outside of the carpark I would have to make sure its not raining a way around this is to check for rain a few days before I film so If I need to change it to a dry day I can. . The camera could be dropped while filming a way to prevent this is to keep it in a safe case until you mount it onto a tripod.
  • 40. CONTINGENCY PLANNING Things go wrong Your contingency plan is there to give you a backup or to minimize the effect on production You should consider the following areas: Technical, Location, Personnel and Organizational areas [about 5 potential issues for each] Use the form in pre-production folder on Blackboard
  • 41. CONTINGENCY PLAN . Camera dies while filming this would mean I could no longer film a easy solution for this would be to bring a extra battery. Also making sure my camera is fully charged before and go and film. . I might need someone to help me film so if they are busy on the day I have to film I might not be able to get the best footage a way around this is to find a time that works well or find another person. . The location where I want to film might be really busy this would mean I couldn’t really film in that location or I would have to find a different time to do it. . My location might be close at certain times so I might have to see what times I can film and if I can even film at night. There is also the possibility I cant film there at all and I would have to changed location on the day to a different one.
  • 42. PRODUCTION SCHEDULE Your schedule should budget a total of 10 hours for production, that is for the filming and editing of your project. You should plan when you’re filming and how you intend to use the in class days on your timetable/class schedule
  • 43. SCHEDULE On the 25th of October I am going to go film in car park then maybe have a look around for some other locations to see if I want any additional footage then I will go over all my footage to see if I have missed anything. On the 1st of November I will start editing all the footage.
  • 44. CLEARANCE AND PERMISSIONS Any place you film and anyone you use in the filming of your video must have a completed form Blank forms are available for you to complete and insert here, you can also create your own
