1.Brocade fabrics:
• Brocade is woven fabrics having a raised figured design that is introduced during
the weaving process, usually by means of a Jacquard attachment.
• The design, appearing only on the fabric face. It is usually made in a satin or twill
weave.
• The fabrics are produced by weaving with warps and weft threads of different
colors and often of different materials.
• Brocade refers to those textiles wherein patterns are created in weaving by
transfixing or thrusting the pattern thread between the warp.
 Uses :
2.Canvas fabric:
• Canvas fabrics are generally made of Cotton, Linen, or synthetic in
heavyweights with an even firm weave.
• Canvas fabrics are rough fabrics.
• A number of Canvas fabrics are commercially available made with
various fiber sources such as Cotton, Linen, Hemp, and colors
blends.
 Uses:
• Generally used for tents, motor hoods, belting, packagings,
sneakers, painting canvases, sandbags,
3.Cambric fabrics:
• is a very fine bleached linen in imitation of the French fabric
made around Cambria (France) and hence sometimes called
French Lawn in Scotland.
• Due to the ease of maintainability, Cambric fabrics are ideal for
handkerchiefs, children’s dresses, slips, underwear, and
nightgowns.
4.Organza fabrics:
• Organza basically refers to a thin, plain weave, and a sheer fabric.
• It is made out of continuous filament of silk yarns.
• Today, many Organza are woven with synthetic filament fibers like
nylon and polyester but most of the stylish organzas are woven in
silk.
• The most popular item made of organza fabric are bags.
• Various designs and shapes of organza fabric bags are attracting
people towards them.
• Adding a nice touch of sophistication and uniqueness Organza
fabric is the choice of millions.
5.Felt fabrics:
• Natural fibers such as wool are pressed and condensed
together with heat and pressure to make a sheet of fabrics are
called Felt Fabrics.
• Felt fabrics are non-woven fabrics
Properties:
• Not easy to loose.
• Flexible.
• Fibers will not spread.
• Bright colors.
6.Cheesecloth fabric:
• The gauze-like structure of the lightest cheesecloth.
• Because it's 100% cotton, soft, nearly lint-free, and absorbs moisture well.
Uses:
• it suitable for food production.
• while heavier weights may be used for garment making.,
• cheesecloth is also suitable to use for wiping and polishing cloths.
• Used in laboratories for cleaning of instruments.
• Medical purpose.
• Light weight curtains.
7. Gauze fabrics:
• Gauze is plain weave fabrics constructed with more spaces between
the threads than regular fabric.
• Gauze fabric is usually made of cotton, rayon or their blends of soft
texture spun yarns.
• Though not suitable for durable applications.
 Uses:
• it is used in apparel, home furnishing like curtains and is popular in
medical uses for bandages.
8.Oxford fabrics:
• Oxford fabrics are made with loosely constructed weaves such as rib
weaves, basket weaves, and half basket weaves out of soft fine yarn.
• Initially, Oxford cloth was made with pure cotton, but many of them
are now made by incorporating synthetic fibers such as polyester and
rayon.
• It is a fabric that needs less care than most other fabrics.
• Since basket weave is a loosely constructed weave, the fabric is
porous.
• Fine and closely packed warp and coarser weft make the fabric
lustrous.
• It is one of the most popular shirt fabrics.
9.Tissue fabrics:
• It is a fine fabric either made of silk or man-made fibre.
• They are characteristically interwoven with gold or silver
threads.
• It is produced in rich colors.
• They are used as women’s dress material, sarees etc.
• Fine finishing
• Shrink resistance
• High tear strength
• Exclusive designs
10.Velvet fabrics:
• Velvet is the type of woven tufted fabric in which the cut
threads are evenly distributed, with a short dense pile.
• Velvet is one of the smoothest and softest amidst all the other
kinds of fabrics. Velvets are specially manufactured and process
because of its distinctive properties.
• Velvet fabric, due to its high-class looks and price viability has
made it the most preferred fabrics.
 Properties:
• Smooth and softer
• It is thick and bulky
• Good warm
• Good fall
• Good crease resistance
Uses :
• Evening wear
• Cushions covers
• Wearing purpose
11.Chiffone fabrics:
• Chiffon fabric can be manufactured using different fibers like silk,
synthetic, polyester, rayon, cotton, etc.
• It is generally associated with fibers like nylon or silk.
• Chiffon fabric can easily be dyed in contrast to any desired color shade.
Uses:
• bridal gowns
• Evening wear
• Designer clothing
• Skirts
• Scarves etc
12.Terry fabrics:
• Terry fabrics also known as terry cloth, toweling, terry
toweling.
• It is made of Cotton or a blend with a synthetic fiber.
• It is warp pile fabric with loops of warp threads alternating
with ground threads.
• Terry fabric can absorb large amount of water.
Properties:
• It is absorbent and
comfortable.
• Does not require ironing.
• It is easy to launder.
• It is bulky and thick.
Uses:
• Towels
• Bath robes
• Sportswear
• Children's wear
• Exercise wear etc
13.Satin fabrics:
• It is originally silk, now also of filament man made fibers with
highly lustrous surface and usually a dull back.
• The satin weave is characterized by four or more fill or weft
yarns floating over a warp yarn, four warp yarns floating over a
single weft yarn.
Properties :
• Satin is soft and good in
feel.
• It is a flat and lustrous with
smooth surface.
• The surface slides easily for
linings.
Uses :
• Evening gowns.
• Men’s shorts
• Shirts and neckties
• Children's fashionables

14. Denim fabrics:
• Denim is a strong, durable fabric constructed in a twill weave
with indigo and white yarns.
• The blue/indigo yarns are the lengthwise or “warp” threads
(parallel to the selvage). The white yarns run across the fabric
width (the weft threads).
• Denim has many faces. It can be printed, striped, brushed,
napped and stonewashed, and the indigo.
 Properrties:
• It is strong and durable.
• It is for long wearing.

  • 3. 1.Brocade fabrics: • Brocade is woven fabrics having a raised figured design that is introduced during the weaving process, usually by means of a Jacquard attachment. • The design, appearing only on the fabric face. It is usually made in a satin or twill weave. • The fabrics are produced by weaving with warps and weft threads of different colors and often of different materials. • Brocade refers to those textiles wherein patterns are created in weaving by transfixing or thrusting the pattern thread between the warp.
  • 5. 2.Canvas fabric: • Canvas fabrics are generally made of Cotton, Linen, or synthetic in heavyweights with an even firm weave. • Canvas fabrics are rough fabrics. • A number of Canvas fabrics are commercially available made with various fiber sources such as Cotton, Linen, Hemp, and colors blends.  Uses: • Generally used for tents, motor hoods, belting, packagings, sneakers, painting canvases, sandbags,
  • 6. 3.Cambric fabrics: • is a very fine bleached linen in imitation of the French fabric made around Cambria (France) and hence sometimes called French Lawn in Scotland. • Due to the ease of maintainability, Cambric fabrics are ideal for handkerchiefs, children’s dresses, slips, underwear, and nightgowns.
  • 7. 4.Organza fabrics: • Organza basically refers to a thin, plain weave, and a sheer fabric. • It is made out of continuous filament of silk yarns. • Today, many Organza are woven with synthetic filament fibers like nylon and polyester but most of the stylish organzas are woven in silk. • The most popular item made of organza fabric are bags. • Various designs and shapes of organza fabric bags are attracting people towards them. • Adding a nice touch of sophistication and uniqueness Organza fabric is the choice of millions.
  • 8. 5.Felt fabrics: • Natural fibers such as wool are pressed and condensed together with heat and pressure to make a sheet of fabrics are called Felt Fabrics. • Felt fabrics are non-woven fabrics Properties: • Not easy to loose. • Flexible. • Fibers will not spread. • Bright colors.
  • 9. 6.Cheesecloth fabric: • The gauze-like structure of the lightest cheesecloth. • Because it's 100% cotton, soft, nearly lint-free, and absorbs moisture well. Uses: • it suitable for food production. • while heavier weights may be used for garment making., • cheesecloth is also suitable to use for wiping and polishing cloths. • Used in laboratories for cleaning of instruments. • Medical purpose. • Light weight curtains.

Gauze fabrics: • Gauze is plain weave fabrics constructed with more spaces between the threads than regular fabric. • Gauze fabric is usually made of cotton, rayon or their blends of soft texture spun yarns. • Though not suitable for durable applications.  Uses: • it is used in apparel, home furnishing like curtains and is popular in medical uses for bandages.
  • 11. 8.Oxford fabrics: • Oxford fabrics are made with loosely constructed weaves such as rib weaves, basket weaves, and half basket weaves out of soft fine yarn. • Initially, Oxford cloth was made with pure cotton, but many of them are now made by incorporating synthetic fibers such as polyester and rayon. • It is a fabric that needs less care than most other fabrics. • Since basket weave is a loosely constructed weave, the fabric is porous. • Fine and closely packed warp and coarser weft make the fabric lustrous. • It is one of the most popular shirt fabrics.
  • 12. 9.Tissue fabrics: • It is a fine fabric either made of silk or man-made fibre. • They are characteristically interwoven with gold or silver threads. • It is produced in rich colors. • They are used as women’s dress material, sarees etc. • Fine finishing • Shrink resistance • High tear strength • Exclusive designs
  • 13. 10.Velvet fabrics: • Velvet is the type of woven tufted fabric in which the cut threads are evenly distributed, with a short dense pile. • Velvet is one of the smoothest and softest amidst all the other kinds of fabrics. Velvets are specially manufactured and process because of its distinctive properties. • Velvet fabric, due to its high-class looks and price viability has made it the most preferred fabrics.

  • 15. 11.Chiffone fabrics: • Chiffon fabric can be manufactured using different fibers like silk, synthetic, polyester, rayon, cotton, etc. • It is generally associated with fibers like nylon or silk. • Chiffon fabric can easily be dyed in contrast to any desired color shade. Uses: • bridal gowns • Evening wear • Designer clothing • Skirts • Scarves etc
  • 16. 12.Terry fabrics: • Terry fabrics also known as terry cloth, toweling, terry toweling. • It is made of Cotton or a blend with a synthetic fiber. • It is warp pile fabric with loops of warp threads alternating with ground threads. • Terry fabric can absorb large amount of water.
  • 17. Properties: • It is absorbent and comfortable. • Does not require ironing. • It is easy to launder. • It is bulky and thick. Uses: • Towels • Bath robes • Sportswear • Children's wear • Exercise wear etc
  • 18. 13.Satin fabrics: • It is originally silk, now also of filament man made fibers with highly lustrous surface and usually a dull back. • The satin weave is characterized by four or more fill or weft yarns floating over a warp yarn, four warp yarns floating over a single weft yarn.
  • 19. Properties : • Satin is soft and good in feel. • It is a flat and lustrous with smooth surface. • The surface slides easily for linings. Uses : • Evening gowns. • Men’s shorts • Shirts and neckties • Children's fashionables begs • Bed sheets etc.

Denim fabrics: • Denim is a strong, durable fabric constructed in a twill weave with indigo and white yarns. • The blue/indigo yarns are the lengthwise or “warp” threads (parallel to the selvage). The white yarns run across the fabric width (the weft threads). • Denim has many faces. It can be printed, striped, brushed, napped and stonewashed, and the indigo.
