In their preliminary task, the author felt their image quality and text design needed improvement. For their final production, they learned how to better edit images, incorporate additional design elements like social media boxes, and use layout techniques to make the text more interesting. Specifically, the author gained experience with layers in Photoshop that allowed them to create a more advanced design compared to using Word. They also applied these new skills to their double page spread by including clearer images, better lighting, and a striking black and white color scheme.

4. PROGRESSION AND LEARNINGThere were many changes I wanted to make in the progression from
my preliminary to my final production.
1) Images – In my preliminary my image quality I felt was not that
bad, however my cover was brief. It was very scarce, luckily it was
natural lighting and I did not need artificial lighting but I could not
control it so I had to tamper with the image to make sure it did not
look white washed. This time round I had learnt how to edit the
image etc and so that made a difference to my construction.
2) Texts – In my preliminary my text was bleak and boring, whereas
this time round it was better and I added images etc and other
features such as the social media box and the layout was much
better. I used a lot of sans serif fonts because of the common codes
and conventions I found during my research.

5. PROGRESSION AND LEARNING
3) Compared to my preliminary, the layout has changed and has
more definition to it. I learnt how layers work on photo shop
and was much more advanced this time round. Part of my
preliminary I used Microsoft office word, which I learned that it
was better to use photoshop, as there were many more features
in comparison.
4) Masthead – I kept with a similar masthead to my preliminary
but changed the background colour, however I feel it is still
bold now, compared to before.

6. FINAL PRODUCTION

7. Overall there was improvement throughout the process of my construction,
and I was able to do many other things that I was not able to during my
preliminary. These things I learnt I applied to my double page spread. In
terms of my images, they were clearer, the lighting was better, I learnt how
to manipulate the image and how to make it more striking by making it a
black/white colour scheme.
My knowledge on layout has improved which was crucial for the double
page spread. I have learnt more about the texts and the common codes and
conventions of them, and have incorporated this in my production.
