Back in my preliminary task evaluation I said I wanted to research
more into Adobe Photoshop CS3 and learn how to use it a bit better.
I feel as though I have definitely exceeded this and am quite
confident in my capabilities of using the program. I felt as though my
lack of ability was hindering my creativity but certainly feel that now I
have learned more in depth skills that I have been able to express my
creativity a lot more than in my preliminary task. I also wanted to add
to my knowledge of cameras and skills in photography. I wanted to
learn better ways of taking photos and better settings to use when
doing so. I feel as though I learned this very early on which
benefitted me most when taking the photos for my final production.

6. Learning
During the course of this assignment I have learned a huge deal of
new methods, skills, information and techniques. One of the skill u
learned and used the most was the transformation of images and
text. This meant that I could position and arrange it exactly how I
wanted it. Whether it be changing the angle, perspective or just
general size. This is something I didn't even really know how to do in
the beginning of my production. I also learned about the layering of
different pieces in Photoshop and how to move them around and on
top of each other. I learned how to do this by watching a YouTube
tutorial. I tried to avoid creating a lot of layers as it made the sidebar
very messy and unorganized an hard for me to understand where
everything was. I also learned how to change the spacing between
letters horizontally and vertically which I used quite often to make
sure my text wasn’t too crowded and was well spaced out to fill all
the right places. The research of the different codes and conventions
helped me to learn the ins and outs of commonly used components
of a typical music magazine. This helped me to build my magazine to
fit in with existing media and follow these codes and conventions. I
also felt like I understood them enough to challenge some of them
then justify why and what effect it gives.

7. Conclusion
All in all, I definitely feel as though I've come a long way since my
preliminary task. I've improved in pretty much every field possible and I
am quite proud of myself and even quite surprised. I can now produce
much better quality and much more professional work which I am
looking forward to being able to use in the future. Putting together an
actual plan also really helped me to be able to organize my work and
get it done to a better standard. In the beginning I did heavily rely on
YouTube and other tutorials but after getting stuck in I feel as though I
was familiar enough with certain aspects that I was able to learn things
and figure them out for myself.
