3. Notification for featured snippet removal?
Google currently does not notify
webmasters when they lost a featured
snippet. But it is being considered.
7. Google My Business having issues on transferring
reviews.
GMB had the function to transfer reviews from your old business listing to your
new, updated business listing (updated name, location etc). But that function has
not been working since July or earlier, according to Barry Schwartz.
Google acknowledged that it’s a technical issue but up until now, it’s still haven’t
been resolved.
8. Native lazy loading support coming to Googlebot.
Googlebot has been running on latest Chromium (being evergreen) since May.
With the Chrome team adding native lazy loading support to Chrome 76, that very
well means that the evergreen Googlebot will be supporting that function.
Martin Splitt confirmed with Gary Illyes that
yes, lazy loading support will be working
with Googlebot as well.
9. Google: Alexa Rank? No.
John Mu from Google replied point blank - No. - to a Twitter user asking whether
Alexa Rank impacts SERP ranking in anyways.
Which should not came as a
surprise just like how another
frequently quoted third-party
metric - Moz’s Domain
Authority and Page authority -
has nothing to do with Google,
nor does it affects ranking.
10. EAT: Structured data only is not the way to go.
John Mueller from Google said during one of his Hangouts video that Google tries
to recognize
"additional details about information about the author, information about the
reviewers, about the website overall, through through a number of ways."
And
“If it's just like hidden away in structured data then that's not very useful for users
because users tend not to use view source when looking at a page to determine
whether or not they should trust it. So I would try to find an approach that works
well primarily for users and focus on that.”
11. After a probe from Mary Haynes, John
added that there’s no technical trick
for E-A-T.
Only through content.
Still pretty vague if you ask me.
