June 2004 – May 2009: Owner/Operator Formaggio Columbus,OH
At the age of 24 I developed a plan and secured private financing to open a pizzeria adjacent to the Ohio
State University’s campus. I ran all facets of the operation: accounting, marketing, food prep, cleaning and
maintenance, etc., and rarely worked less than 80 hours per week. This endeavor allowed me to network with
other business owners to gain a better understanding of our ever changing market and what tactics were needed to
attract and influence consumers. I consider this experience a significant chapter in my lifelong education in
which I developed skills and insights which cannot be taught in a classroom. I began this dream with the desire to
manage my own business and make great food, but left knowing the greatest aspect was the relationships I
developed with our customers and the satisfaction of knowing they received high quality products and service.
