Hirarc for water pipe installation. The installation took place on Penang Hill, Penang. One of the busiest tourist attraction in Malaysia. Luckily, the job was carried out during shutdown period. It is the time for the funicular train to do major maintenance and repair and the area was unaccessible by train. We still have visitors coming in thru Jeep Track which means the area not fully closed and still have public safety issues. This is the Hirarc for the job and it was carried out safely as planned.

SOP FOR PIPING INSTALLATION
1) Supervisor (compulsory) and traffic controllers (if needed) need to be present during
work.
2) Work area to be cordon off to avoid unwanted personnel. Appropriate signage are to be
put at strategic and visible locations.
3) PPE to be supplied and used on all work activities.
4) All tools to be inspected beforehand and faulty tools to be replaced or repaired.
5) Utilise competent skill workers for welding and fitting works to ensure safety and
acceptable workmanship.
6) Machineries at site need to be operated with caution. Supervisor need to be vigilant.
7) All vehicles / machineries going in and out need to be escorted by 2 or more traffic
controllers with complete PPE, high visibility vests and whistles to promote awareness.
8) Machinery operator to be careful and to be aware of their surroundings and other workers
safety. All workers also to pay attention of machinery movement near them.
9) Loads to be lift with remote control method like tag line.
10) Extra lighting sources to be provided if working time extended after dark to ensure safety
of all workers.
