Varicose veins are swollen and enlarged veins- usually
blue or dark purple – that usually occurs on the leg. They
may also be lumpy, bulging or twisted in appearance.

tortuous and palpable superficial veins as a result of
venous hypertension.
11. SURGICAL MANAGEMENT:-
Vein stripping- removing a long vein
through small incision. Removing the vein
won’t affect circulation in leg because
vein deeper in the leg take care of the
larger volume of blood.
Ambulatory phlebectomy- removes
smaller varicose vein through tiny skin
puncture.
12. Endoscopic vein surgery- surgeon uses a thin video camera
inserted in leg visualize and close varicose veins, and then
removes the vein through small incision.
