2. Introduction
• Radio is one of the fastest and most powerful
media for communicating with rural mass
• It reaches people of different culture provided
they understands the language of transmission
• Through this more people can be contacted at a
time efficiently and economically since majority
of the rural people are illiterate, radio becomes
an important means of information and
recreation
3. • Radio is effective not only in informing but also
in creating awareness, developing interest and
motivating people for initiating action
• Radio provokes thinking in the audience about
the current problems and helps to disseminate
information quickly in emergency
• A variety of modes can be used to broadcast the
information through radio
4. The modes of broadcast can be
straight talk, interview, dialogue,
panel discussion, song, drama etc

• It is important to write the script in a systematic
way to ensure that all important information
goes in and unnecessary details go out

farmers.
