Shape Task
Shape Task
Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
In my first image I created a house using shapes suchlike squares, rectangles,
triangles and custom shapes. I enjoyed doing this as you could using all there
different shape to created what ever shape you wanted for your house.
Overall I am pleased with my image because it use lots of different shapes to
create a picture that looks like a house. And by using the custom shape tool I
was able to use a fence shape for the outside of my house making it look even
more realistic. The second image, the penguin I liked that you were able to
use the warp tool to be able to changed your shape to fit the size and style
you needed it to be. This help the shapes look like a penguin. I also liked how I
used different shades of grey to be to shows the different parts off the
penguin without it all blending in together.
What would you improve if you did it again?
If I were able to do it again I would improve the amount of time I spent on
each of the photos. For the second image I would spend more time to
carefully make sure every detail on the penguin was correct and accurate. I
would also spend more time warping my shapes to make sure they were as
close to the shape of the animal. In my first image, the house I would make
my own fence instead of using the custom shape tool this would show more
skill and help me become better at using shapes. I would also start adding in
more detail for example tiles on the roof this would make it look more
realistic.
Rotoscope
What did you like about your image?
I like the colours I have selected in my image because I think they are an
accurate skin colour. I also like the lines I have added in her hair by using
different shade of yellow to create streaks I believe this adds texture to the
hair and makes her look more realistic. I have also used a different shade of
the colour I used for her skin to use for the finger nails. This helps them
stands out and makes her hands look more realistic then having one colour
that’s blends the whole arm and hand together. I have used different pinks for
the lips. A medium pink for the lower lip and a darker pink for the upper lip. I
have done this so it help the lines of the lips stand out and to add texture to
them.
What would you improve if you did it again?
I would spend more time on the face adding shadows to the face by using
different shades of the same colour to create highlight and low lights as this
make the person look more realistic. I would also take my time using the
polygon tool to select my person as some of the edges are rough, by spending
more time outlining the sections it will look more accurate to the real person
as there will be no gaps.
Rotoscope
Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
After doing a rotoscope on a person I decide to try
recreate a dog. I like the detail on the eye that I have
done. I did this by using two different colour of grey to
create shadows round he’s eye and putting a small bit of
white in the eye helps create a reflection/light in the eye.
This helps the dog look more accurate to the real life
version.
What would you improve if you did it again?
I would go back and spend more time outlining the dog as
the edges are sharp and does not look as natural as it
could. I would also spend more time on the grass adding
lines to create texture as this would make it look more
realistic.
Film Quotes
Film Quotes
Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
In my first film quote I used a online picture. I like the editing I did to
the image by changing the image to a cartoon effect this help create
a more child fairy tale poster. I also like the effect I did on the letters.
I used the gradient effect this made the words colour go from purple
to white this helped it stand out from the black and also fits in with
the purple women in the poster. In my second film quote I liked how
I create my own picture using shapes this make it different to other
poster as it is unique. It also allows me to create the exact thing I
want. I like how simple the poster is. I have try to create a minimal
poster by using something obvious in the film to help people know
what the poster it representing.
What would you improve if you did it again?
To improve my first image I would go back a rotoscope my image as
this would make it look much better and original and be able to to
show off more techniques .In my second image I would spend more
time on the vines to makes them look more realistic and same on the
flowers I would add more to add colour to the image.

What did you like about your image?
I like the way I have designed my font. Especially the 11th font. I like the
gradient tool as this makes the text more interesting as it has a more than
one colour mixed together and also I like the warp tool that has been use
to create a different shape as this helps it stand out and also you could
change the shape to fit round a photo or other object. I also like the 14th
text as I was able to put a background of my choice behind the text. I like
this because if you were talking about a place you could put the place in
the background on the text and it also helps the text stand out and
because there are million of image there will also be a variety to chose
from so you will not get bored of the same colour.
What would you improve if you did it again?
I would improve my text overall by using different colour then just purple
to make them look more interesting.

Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
I like the colours I have used in the image because
they are vibrant and stand out against the original
colours. I also like the level of the effect I chose as it
still gives it a cartoon effect but also you can still see
the detail of the face and are able to know who the
person is.
What would you improve if you did it again?
To would add more colours to the picture as there is
only two main colours being used, blue and orange.
So by adding more colour would make the photo
look much better and more interesting.
Planning photo story
Photo Story
Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
I like the story of my image. I like the mystery in my story
and how I have created a well structured story. I like the
cartoon effect I have made the image as this make it look
more like a comic strip and more like a children's story.
The speech/thinking bubbles I added I think really
helped bring the story to life and also helped show what
was happening and guides you thought it.
What would you improve if you did it again?
If I were to improve it would add more characters and
props in the images to help it tell the story better and to
also make it more interesting. I would also try to add
more colour into the image as there are very similar.
Illustration
Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
I like the style in how I drawn my image because I have
drawn a very simple cartoon with not much detail as I like
the animated look and I think it fits in with children's book a
lot more as it simple for kids to understand. I like the colours
I have used for the pig because they a very colourful and help
that picture stand out.
What would you improve if you did it again?
I would spend more time with my drawing as I am not a
confident drawer and I want to spend time colouring it in
better so it does not have patches and also add more to the
background to helps the image become for realistic and
interesting.
Narrative Environment
Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
I like the texture of my image. I have used lots of different
textures including, wood, brick, planks, wallpaper and stone. I
liked how I have use these different materials to create my
picture as they add texture to the cartoon and make it look
more realistic and to help people understand what the objects
are meant to be. I like the gradient tool that I have used on my
sky this helps blend two different blue together to create the
effect of the sun going down as the sky is getting darker.
What would you improve if you did it again?
If I where to go back and improve my image I would add more
objects into the background to makes it look better as it is
quite simple. I would use more exciting colour such as red to
brighten up the background.

The magpies nest
Synopsis- The magpies is the smartest bird and every other bird wanted the magpie
to teach the other birds how to build nests as the magpie describes how to build a
nest part by part the other birds kept flying away when they have had enough. By
the end of the tutorial the bird realized everyone had gone and flew away so the
magpie got angry and left and that’s why birds have different nests.
Advantages:
• Each bird learnt something from the
magpies teaching and was able to
build a nest.
• One bird stayed right till the end
Disadvantages:
• The bird did not stay till the end and didn't’t
learn how to build the nest properly.
• The birds build there nest differently.
• The magpie got angry and flew off.
Moral: The moral of
this story is to be
careful who you help
as people can take it
for granted.
Location:
There is a main tree that
all the bird come to, to
find out how to build
nests.
Characters:
The characters in
this story are:
• Magpie
• Blackbird

This story is good for
me to create as it is
very short so I would
be able to fit it in 8-12
pages. It also has a
good structure so
would be simple for
me to recreate it.

Dimensions
The number of pages my book will be is 10 pages as I believe this is enough to tell the
story. The sizes of my pages will be 21x21cm this makes a square shape.
Story Overview
There are three penguins. The first one is a large size and is the dad. The second one is
a medium size and is the mum. The last one is a small size and is the baby. In the story
the penguin cook some fish but go for walk to let it cool down meanwhile a explorer
comes along and enters the igloo(home) and starts to try each bowl of fish till she finds
the right one and does the same for the chairs and the beds. At the end of the story
the penguin comes back to find all of there stuff had been used/tasted. The explorer
wakes up to the penguin shouting at her for breaking in to there house. The penguins
explain to her its wrong to eat other peoples food and go into animals house and she
cry’s but understands and leaves.
Export Format
My export format will be a PDF file.
Advantages: You can compress them into a small file size to make it easier to send
them but still remain control over the level of image quality.
Disadvantages: To be able to view a PDF file you must have adobe reader or any other
PDF software. This make it hard to access it.
Deadline
We will have till the 3rd of February 2017 to complete the production of our book.
Audience
The age of my book will be based around 3-7 as it will include pictures and minimal text so
the audience can enjoy it more. The gender of my book will be for both boy and girl as the
book does not focus on something that is more interesting in a certain gender its very
neutral. This I will be good for the parents if they have more than once kid buying a book
that’s fits both of them is better than buying two separate ones. The Geodemographic for my
book is the UK as the writing will be written in English. Lastly the demographic for my book
will lower/middle class and its just a normal picture book and doesn't’t teach anything to the
kids and its also would be cheap so would be suitable for lower classes who don’t have as
much money as higher class.
Production Methods
In my story I will use shapes a lot to create my animals. To be able to make the shape look
like the animal I will use a warp tool to move the shape around so its fits my animal then
colour each shape in the right colour of the animal for my case a penguin so I will colour
mine in grey. For my explorer I will use rotoscope to make a more accurate copy. I will do this
by using the polygon tool to outline my person then after colour each selection in till I have a
cartoon figure. I will use clipping mask for my background as it allows you to paste in images
and create them into the shape you wanted, this allows you do add texture to the
background. Finally I will use text to show what the characters are saying and make the book
more fun as the children will be able to read it.
What are the strengths of the proposal? What areas of the proposal need further work?
One of the biggest strengths of the proposal is the
detail. You have gone into great detail in things
such as page numbers and the page dimensions.
I like the fact you have taken a well known story
and made it your own by using different animals
and a different location.
I feel like to further improve your proposal you
could go into further detail on what happens to the
explorer after the food has been eaten. I feel like
since this is a children's book there should be some
repercussions for this bad behaviour.
What are the strengths of the idea generation? What areas of idea generation could have been
further developed?
A big strength for the idea generation is again the
level of detail you have gone into. Within this story
you have clearly planned out you locations and
characters. You have an idea of what your
characters will look like hand you have explored the
types of fonts you will use.
I feel like you could further develop the moral of the
story as I see from your idea generation that you
have a good moral in place I just don’t see it being
executed fully within the current plans.
What are the strengths of the proposal? What areas of the proposal need further work?
Your proposal is very thorough and the amount that
you have outlined shows you have a clear vision for
your story which is very strong and shown clearly,
also the story is very well planned out, you show
that you recognise what is going to make up your
story and the content of it. Your production methods
and audience sections are very expanded and very
well done with lots of detail which makes these
parts particularly strong. Your identification of a
clear audience should help to defined how the book
will turn to appeal to that market.
The story end could be worked on more as the
story has no moral lesson, the explorer comes into
the house and steals everything then makes an
escape with no repercussions. This could be
expanded further so that the explorer takes some
responsibility rather than getting away Scott free.
What are the strengths of the idea generation? What areas of idea generation could have been
further developed?
Your idea generation is very strong as you have
demonstrated which stories you have chosen, with
a very well organised and detailed mind map, the
mood boards are very well done and separated and
you can see the ideas you want to incorporate into
your story. The generation of fonts is particularly
strong and you have given yourself the opportunity
of using a good font which is suitable for the
purpose of the book.
I feel as if you could have improved your idea
generation by including some more variety into the
mood boards as particularly on the woman mood
board you have chosen different types of images
that are essentially the same thing each time, you
could try and branch out some of your ideas so that
you can potentially find a new idea and could
incorporate it into your story.
What are the strengths of the proposal? What areas of the proposal need further work?
Your proposal is very strong throughout the section
and it provides a clear, concise vision of what you
want your book to be. The production method is
very expanded and very detailed, this is good
because you will know exactly what to do for the
majority of the rotation. The audience section is
very clear and you have provided a clear
understanding of your own storyline, and what it is
based off of.
I feel like the ending could benefit from some extra
thought, the explorer leaves the igloo without being
punished for stealing. This would give children the
illusion that it is okay to steal and you could steal
without any consequences. You could maybe have
the explorer taught a lesson instead.
What are the strengths of the idea generation? What areas of idea generation could have been
further developed?
A big strength for the idea generation is again the
level of detail you have gone into. Within this story
you have clearly planned out you locations and
characters. You have thought well of the characters
and locations.
The mood boards are great and they provide a
clear representation of the characters you want to
include. Although I feel like there could be a lot
more variety in the mood boards, rather than just
the penguins.
Feedback Summary
Sum up your feedback.
Add more to the ending as at the moment it shows that the women steals things and
getting away with it. The 3 people all said to show the women get punished to show the
children its not okay to steal. And this would also help create a moral to the story.
Try to have variety in mood bored.
Which parts of your feedback do you agree with and why?
I agree with the feedback about the ending as it shouldn't’t show that stealing is okay, so
I am going to add a ending were the explorer is shouted at so the reader knows its not
okay to steal because I agree that my story at the moment is setting a bad example and
moral.
Which parts of your feedback do you disagree with and why?
I disagree with the mood bored statements as I have done a mood bored for each
character in my story to show them exactly how I want them to look like. I will not be
adding more to my story bored as I believe it shows everyone how I want my story and
what will be In it.
Original Script
Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Goldilocks. She went for a walk in the forest. Pretty soon, she came upon a house. She knocked and, when no one answered, she walked right in.
At the table in the kitchen, there were three bowls of porridge. Goldilocks was hungry. She tasted the porridge from the first bowl.
"This porridge is too hot!" she exclaimed.
So, she tasted the porridge from the second bowl.
"This porridge is too cold," she said
So, she tasted the last bowl of porridge.
"Ahhh, this porridge is just right," she said happily and she ate it all up.
After she'd eaten the three bears' breakfasts she decided she was feeling a little tired. So, she walked into the living room where she saw three chairs. Goldilocks sat in the first chair to rest her feet. "This chair is
too big!" she exclaimed.
So she sat in the second chair.
"This chair is too big, too!" she whined.
So she tried the last and smallest chair.
"Ahhh, this chair is just right," she sighed. But just as she settled down into the chair to rest, it broke into pieces!
Goldilocks was very tired by this time, so she went upstairs to the bedroom. She lay down in the first bed, but it was too hard. Then she lay in the second bed, but it was too soft. Then she lay down in the third
bed and it was just right. Goldilocks fell asleep.
As she was sleeping, the three bears came home.
"Someone's been eating my porridge," growled the Papa bear.
"Someone's been eating my porridge," said the Mama bear.
"Someone's been eating my porridge and they ate it all up!" cried the Baby bear.
"Someone's been sitting in my chair," growled the Papa bear.
"Someone's been sitting in my chair," said the Mama bear.
"Someone's been sitting in my chair and they've broken it all to pieces," cried the Baby bear.
They decided to look around some more and when they got upstairs to the bedroom, Papa bear growled, "Someone's been sleeping in my bed,"
"Someone's been sleeping in my bed, too" said the Mama bear
"Someone's been sleeping in my bed and she's still there!" exclaimed Baby bear.
Just then, Goldilocks woke up and saw the three bears. She screamed, "Help!" And she jumped up and ran out of the room. Goldilocks ran down the stairs, opened the door, and ran away into the forest. And
she never returned to the home of the three bears.

  • 4. Evaluation What did you like about your image? In my first image I created a house using shapes suchlike squares, rectangles, triangles and custom shapes. I enjoyed doing this as you could using all there different shape to created what ever shape you wanted for your house. Overall I am pleased with my image because it use lots of different shapes to create a picture that looks like a house. And by using the custom shape tool I was able to use a fence shape for the outside of my house making it look even more realistic. The second image, the penguin I liked that you were able to use the warp tool to be able to changed your shape to fit the size and style you needed it to be. This help the shapes look like a penguin. I also liked how I used different shades of grey to be to shows the different parts off the penguin without it all blending in together. What would you improve if you did it again? If I were able to do it again I would improve the amount of time I spent on each of the photos. For the second image I would spend more time to carefully make sure every detail on the penguin was correct and accurate. I would also spend more time warping my shapes to make sure they were as close to the shape of the animal. In my first image, the house I would make my own fence instead of using the custom shape tool this would show more skill and help me become better at using shapes. I would also start adding in more detail for example tiles on the roof this would make it look more realistic.
  • 6. What did you like about your image? I like the colours I have selected in my image because I think they are an accurate skin colour. I also like the lines I have added in her hair by using different shade of yellow to create streaks I believe this adds texture to the hair and makes her look more realistic. I have also used a different shade of the colour I used for her skin to use for the finger nails. This helps them stands out and makes her hands look more realistic then having one colour that’s blends the whole arm and hand together. I have used different pinks for the lips. A medium pink for the lower lip and a darker pink for the upper lip. I have done this so it help the lines of the lips stand out and to add texture to them. What would you improve if you did it again? I would spend more time on the face adding shadows to the face by using different shades of the same colour to create highlight and low lights as this make the person look more realistic. I would also take my time using the polygon tool to select my person as some of the edges are rough, by spending more time outlining the sections it will look more accurate to the real person as there will be no gaps.
  • 8. Evaluation What did you like about your image? After doing a rotoscope on a person I decide to try recreate a dog. I like the detail on the eye that I have done. I did this by using two different colour of grey to create shadows round he’s eye and putting a small bit of white in the eye helps create a reflection/light in the eye. This helps the dog look more accurate to the real life version. What would you improve if you did it again? I would go back and spend more time outlining the dog as the edges are sharp and does not look as natural as it could. I would also spend more time on the grass adding lines to create texture as this would make it look more realistic.
  • 11. Evaluation What did you like about your image? In my first film quote I used a online picture. I like the editing I did to the image by changing the image to a cartoon effect this help create a more child fairy tale poster. I also like the effect I did on the letters. I used the gradient effect this made the words colour go from purple to white this helped it stand out from the black and also fits in with the purple women in the poster. In my second film quote I liked how I create my own picture using shapes this make it different to other poster as it is unique. It also allows me to create the exact thing I want. I like how simple the poster is. I have try to create a minimal poster by using something obvious in the film to help people know what the poster it representing. What would you improve if you did it again? To improve my first image I would go back a rotoscope my image as this would make it look much better and original and be able to to show off more techniques .In my second image I would spend more time on the vines to makes them look more realistic and same on the flowers I would add more to add colour to the image.
  • 13. Evaluation What did you like about your image? I like the way I have designed my font. Especially the 11th font. I like the gradient tool as this makes the text more interesting as it has a more than one colour mixed together and also I like the warp tool that has been use to create a different shape as this helps it stand out and also you could change the shape to fit round a photo or other object. I also like the 14th text as I was able to put a background of my choice behind the text. I like this because if you were talking about a place you could put the place in the background on the text and it also helps the text stand out and because there are million of image there will also be a variety to chose from so you will not get bored of the same colour. What would you improve if you did it again? I would improve my text overall by using different colour then just purple to make them look more interesting.
  • 16. Evaluation What did you like about your image? I like the colours I have used in the image because they are vibrant and stand out against the original colours. I also like the level of the effect I chose as it still gives it a cartoon effect but also you can still see the detail of the face and are able to know who the person is. What would you improve if you did it again? To would add more colours to the picture as there is only two main colours being used, blue and orange. So by adding more colour would make the photo look much better and more interesting.
  • 19. Evaluation What did you like about your image? I like the story of my image. I like the mystery in my story and how I have created a well structured story. I like the cartoon effect I have made the image as this make it look more like a comic strip and more like a children's story. The speech/thinking bubbles I added I think really helped bring the story to life and also helped show what was happening and guides you thought it. What would you improve if you did it again? If I were to improve it would add more characters and props in the images to help it tell the story better and to also make it more interesting. I would also try to add more colour into the image as there are very similar.
  • 21. Evaluation What did you like about your image? I like the style in how I drawn my image because I have drawn a very simple cartoon with not much detail as I like the animated look and I think it fits in with children's book a lot more as it simple for kids to understand. I like the colours I have used for the pig because they a very colourful and help that picture stand out. What would you improve if you did it again? I would spend more time with my drawing as I am not a confident drawer and I want to spend time colouring it in better so it does not have patches and also add more to the background to helps the image become for realistic and interesting.
  • 23. Evaluation What did you like about your image? I like the texture of my image. I have used lots of different textures including, wood, brick, planks, wallpaper and stone. I liked how I have use these different materials to create my picture as they add texture to the cartoon and make it look more realistic and to help people understand what the objects are meant to be. I like the gradient tool that I have used on my sky this helps blend two different blue together to create the effect of the sun going down as the sky is getting darker. What would you improve if you did it again? If I where to go back and improve my image I would add more objects into the background to makes it look better as it is quite simple. I would use more exciting colour such as red to brighten up the background.
  • 25. Cat and the mouse Synopsis- The cat and mouse play together but the cat bites off the mousse tail and for the mouse to get its tail back it has to do a series of tasks this includes getting milk from a cow, getting hay from a farmer , getting meat from a butcher and getting bread from a baker after all of these task he finally gets he's tail back. Advantages: • The animals/people in the books get everything they want. • In the end the mouse gets its tail back. • Everyone in the end is happy. Disadvantage: • The mouse loses its tail. • Has to do lots of tasks for lots of other animals/people to be able to get its tail back. Moral: The moral of the story is to be careful who you trust as it can get you into bad situations. Locations: • Malt-house • Field • Farm • Butchers • Bakers Characters: • Main character: Mouse • Cat • Cow • Farmer • Butcher • Baker This would be a good story to use as its not very long so I would be able to create 8- 12 pages. The story does not involve any bad language or scene’s so it suitable for children. Idea generation http://www.worldoftales.com/
  • 26. Idea generation The magpies nest Synopsis- The magpies is the smartest bird and every other bird wanted the magpie to teach the other birds how to build nests as the magpie describes how to build a nest part by part the other birds kept flying away when they have had enough. By the end of the tutorial the bird realized everyone had gone and flew away so the magpie got angry and left and that’s why birds have different nests. Advantages: • Each bird learnt something from the magpies teaching and was able to build a nest. • One bird stayed right till the end Disadvantages: • The bird did not stay till the end and didn't’t learn how to build the nest properly. • The birds build there nest differently. • The magpie got angry and flew off. Moral: The moral of this story is to be careful who you help as people can take it for granted. Location: There is a main tree that all the bird come to, to find out how to build nests. Characters: The characters in this story are: • Magpie • Blackbird • Wise owl • Sparrow • Sterling This story is good for me to create as it is very short so I would be able to fit it in 8-12 pages. It also has a good structure so would be simple for me to recreate it. http://www.worldoftales.com/
  • 27. Idea generation The story of the three bears Synopsis- There were three bears. A big one, a median one and a small sized one. They all made porridge in there large, medium and small sized bowls but they were to hot so they went for a walk to wait for it cool down. While they where out a girl called goldilocks came across there house and noticed no one is in so walked in a laid in there beds and sat in here chair till she tried there porridge. One was to hot, one was to cold and one was just right. She went to sleep in there beds the bear came back and shouted at her for doing wrong and she ran away. Advantages: • Goldilocks got to eat porridge • Sleep in the perfect bed • Sit in the perfect chair Disadvantage: • The three bears didn't’t get to eat there porridge • Someone had slept in there beds • Someone had sat in there chairs • Someone broke into there house. Moral: the moral of the story is to not touch what is not yours because this can upset people/bears. Location: There are 4 location of the story. • Forest/house • Bedroom • Living room • Kitchen Characters: • Big bear • Medium bear • Small bear • Little girl (goldilocks) http://www.worldoftales.com/
  • 28. Mood board of chosen idea Idea mind map And the penguins shout at her for doing wrong and try to explain she cannot does this. She listens and understands and leaves.
  • 33. Proposal Dimensions The number of pages my book will be is 10 pages as I believe this is enough to tell the story. The sizes of my pages will be 21x21cm this makes a square shape. Story Overview There are three penguins. The first one is a large size and is the dad. The second one is a medium size and is the mum. The last one is a small size and is the baby. In the story the penguin cook some fish but go for walk to let it cool down meanwhile a explorer comes along and enters the igloo(home) and starts to try each bowl of fish till she finds the right one and does the same for the chairs and the beds. At the end of the story the penguin comes back to find all of there stuff had been used/tasted. The explorer wakes up to the penguin shouting at her for breaking in to there house. The penguins explain to her its wrong to eat other peoples food and go into animals house and she cry’s but understands and leaves. Export Format My export format will be a PDF file. Advantages: You can compress them into a small file size to make it easier to send them but still remain control over the level of image quality. Disadvantages: To be able to view a PDF file you must have adobe reader or any other PDF software. This make it hard to access it.
  • 34. Deadline We will have till the 3rd of February 2017 to complete the production of our book. Audience The age of my book will be based around 3-7 as it will include pictures and minimal text so the audience can enjoy it more. The gender of my book will be for both boy and girl as the book does not focus on something that is more interesting in a certain gender its very neutral. This I will be good for the parents if they have more than once kid buying a book that’s fits both of them is better than buying two separate ones. The Geodemographic for my book is the UK as the writing will be written in English. Lastly the demographic for my book will lower/middle class and its just a normal picture book and doesn't’t teach anything to the kids and its also would be cheap so would be suitable for lower classes who don’t have as much money as higher class. Production Methods In my story I will use shapes a lot to create my animals. To be able to make the shape look like the animal I will use a warp tool to move the shape around so its fits my animal then colour each shape in the right colour of the animal for my case a penguin so I will colour mine in grey. For my explorer I will use rotoscope to make a more accurate copy. I will do this by using the polygon tool to outline my person then after colour each selection in till I have a cartoon figure. I will use clipping mask for my background as it allows you to paste in images and create them into the shape you wanted, this allows you do add texture to the background. Finally I will use text to show what the characters are saying and make the book more fun as the children will be able to read it.
  • 35. What are the strengths of the proposal? What areas of the proposal need further work? One of the biggest strengths of the proposal is the detail. You have gone into great detail in things such as page numbers and the page dimensions. I like the fact you have taken a well known story and made it your own by using different animals and a different location. I feel like to further improve your proposal you could go into further detail on what happens to the explorer after the food has been eaten. I feel like since this is a children's book there should be some repercussions for this bad behaviour. What are the strengths of the idea generation? What areas of idea generation could have been further developed? A big strength for the idea generation is again the level of detail you have gone into. Within this story you have clearly planned out you locations and characters. You have an idea of what your characters will look like hand you have explored the types of fonts you will use. I feel like you could further develop the moral of the story as I see from your idea generation that you have a good moral in place I just don’t see it being executed fully within the current plans.
  • 36. What are the strengths of the proposal? What areas of the proposal need further work? Your proposal is very thorough and the amount that you have outlined shows you have a clear vision for your story which is very strong and shown clearly, also the story is very well planned out, you show that you recognise what is going to make up your story and the content of it. Your production methods and audience sections are very expanded and very well done with lots of detail which makes these parts particularly strong. Your identification of a clear audience should help to defined how the book will turn to appeal to that market. The story end could be worked on more as the story has no moral lesson, the explorer comes into the house and steals everything then makes an escape with no repercussions. This could be expanded further so that the explorer takes some responsibility rather than getting away Scott free. What are the strengths of the idea generation? What areas of idea generation could have been further developed? Your idea generation is very strong as you have demonstrated which stories you have chosen, with a very well organised and detailed mind map, the mood boards are very well done and separated and you can see the ideas you want to incorporate into your story. The generation of fonts is particularly strong and you have given yourself the opportunity of using a good font which is suitable for the purpose of the book. I feel as if you could have improved your idea generation by including some more variety into the mood boards as particularly on the woman mood board you have chosen different types of images that are essentially the same thing each time, you could try and branch out some of your ideas so that you can potentially find a new idea and could incorporate it into your story.
  • 37. What are the strengths of the proposal? What areas of the proposal need further work? Your proposal is very strong throughout the section and it provides a clear, concise vision of what you want your book to be. The production method is very expanded and very detailed, this is good because you will know exactly what to do for the majority of the rotation. The audience section is very clear and you have provided a clear understanding of your own storyline, and what it is based off of. I feel like the ending could benefit from some extra thought, the explorer leaves the igloo without being punished for stealing. This would give children the illusion that it is okay to steal and you could steal without any consequences. You could maybe have the explorer taught a lesson instead. What are the strengths of the idea generation? What areas of idea generation could have been further developed? A big strength for the idea generation is again the level of detail you have gone into. Within this story you have clearly planned out you locations and characters. You have thought well of the characters and locations. The mood boards are great and they provide a clear representation of the characters you want to include. Although I feel like there could be a lot more variety in the mood boards, rather than just the penguins.
  • 38. Feedback Summary Sum up your feedback. Add more to the ending as at the moment it shows that the women steals things and getting away with it. The 3 people all said to show the women get punished to show the children its not okay to steal. And this would also help create a moral to the story. Try to have variety in mood bored. Which parts of your feedback do you agree with and why? I agree with the feedback about the ending as it shouldn't’t show that stealing is okay, so I am going to add a ending were the explorer is shouted at so the reader knows its not okay to steal because I agree that my story at the moment is setting a bad example and moral. Which parts of your feedback do you disagree with and why? I disagree with the mood bored statements as I have done a mood bored for each character in my story to show them exactly how I want them to look like. I will not be adding more to my story bored as I believe it shows everyone how I want my story and what will be In it.
  • 39. Original Script Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Goldilocks. "This porridge is too cold," she said So, she tasted the last bowl of porridge. "Ahhh, this porridge is just right," she said happily and she ate it all up. After she'd eaten the three bears' breakfasts she decided she was feeling a little tired. So, she walked into the living room where she saw three chairs. Goldilocks sat in the first chair to rest her feet. "This chair is too big!" she exclaimed. Then she lay down in the third bed and it was just right. They decided to look around some more and when they got upstairs to the bedroom, Papa bear growled, "Someone's been sleeping in my bed," "Someone's been sleeping in my bed, too" said the Mama bear "Someone's been sleeping in my bed and she's still there!" exclaimed Baby bear. Just then, Goldilocks woke up and saw the three bears. She screamed, "Help!" And she jumped up and ran out of the room. Goldilocks ran down the stairs, opened the door, and ran away into the forest. And she never returned to the home of the three bears. http://www.dltk-teach.com/rhymes/goldilocks_story.htm
