4. Introduction
• Agenda 21 is a non-binding plan of action by the United
Nations with regards to sustainable development.
• It is the Product of the Earth Submit (Also known as
UNCED) which held in Rio de Janerio, Brazil in the year
1992 and it was adopted by 178 countries.
• It’s main goal is to promote sustainable development
worldwide, which means meeting the need of present
generation without compromising the ability of future
generations to meet their needs.
