This document describes a smart power failure alert device that monitors a main power supply and sends a message when the power cuts off. It uses a transformer to convert 240V AC to 12V AC, then a bridge rectifier converts it to 5V DC to power an Arduino board. The Arduino acts as a trigger to send a message via GSM module when power fails, alerting users remotely. 2. INTRODUCTION
⮚ Smart Power failure alert is a power supply monitoring device
that will trigger a message when the mains supply cuts off.
⮚ This device is helpful to inform the loss of power supply to some
critical installation such as a pump in a fish tank. Once the
message is sent, you will know that there is a loss of power
supply and actions need to be taken to rectify the situation by
providing alternative power supply or relocating the installation.

⮚ A Transformer is used to Convert 240V to 12V AC supply.
⮚ Further, Using a Bridge rectifier Converting 12V AC to 5V DC supply.
⮚ This 5V DC supply can be used as an input to Arduino which can be used as a trigger to
Arduino in order to send message using GSM module.
⮚ By using this GSM module the information of power failure is transmmited via SMS.

CONCLUSION
⮚A power fail detection circuit in electrically powered apparatus comprising a power
switch for the apparatus and power detection means responsive to the absence of
electrical power from the power switch to provide a power fail indication.
⮚This will help to alert in case there is Power failure.
⮚Hence, power failure alert is a very useful system in case of detecting power
failure
⮚In case if there is a power failure, then message is sent to the user irrespective of
his location
