2. RATIONALE
In this study, the researchers are particularly interested in knowing the
Effectiveness of Technology on Crime Detection and Prevention in the
Municipality of Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro.
Technology has a big role that will help our police to prevent and
detect crimes that happen in our Municipality and in other places.
Nowadays, there are lot of crimes spreading in our places and this is one of
the perceived problem that needs a solution.
According to (Carter, 2017), advancement on law enforcement
technology since 1990 has developed at a very high rate especially
regarding the use of computers as well as telecommunication and this has
impacted effectively on crime prevention.

3. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
This study aims to determine Effectiveness of Using Technology on Crime
Detection and Prevention in the Municipality of Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro
Specifically, it sought to answers the following questions:
1. What are the extent of Crime detection and prevention in the Municipality of
Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro in terms of:
1.1 Responding crimes;
1.2 Enforcing the policies; and
1.3 Preventing Crimes

4. 3.What is the status of using technological equipment in detecting
and preventing crime in terms of:
3.1 Closed-Circuit Television;
3.2 Computers; and
3.3 Cellphones
4. Is there any significant relationship between the extent of Crime
Detection and Prevention in the Municipality of Bongabong,
Oriental Mindoro and the status of using technological equipment
in detecting and preventing crime in the Municipality of
Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro?

5. STATEMENT OF HYPOTHESIS
There is no significant relationship between the
extent of Crime Detection and Prevention in the
Municipality of Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro and
the status of using technological equipment in
detecting and preventing crime in the Municipality
of Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro?

6. SCOPE AND LIMITATION
The focus of this study is to determine the Effectiveness of Using Technology on Crime Detection
and Prevention in the Municipality of Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro. The respondents will be the
police officers in the Municipality of Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro.
