ENGINEERING PROJECTS DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT
July 2014 to Present
Reporting directly to the Projects Superintendent and responsible for planning of monthly and weekly road
maintenance works to be performed according to company priorities, on time, within budget and to required
standards. Ensuring that the company’s business needs are met and delivered with consistently high standards
of occupational health, safety and environment practices. Manage and supervise implementation of all
operational road works & civil works projects including planning, budgeting, prioritizing and management of
contractor’s daily tasks, improvement designs and contract management
Achievements
● Provided a detailed and comprehensive Scope of Works for the rehabilitation and sealing of a major
company road section – 2.70 kilometers, including specifications, BOQ and cost estimates.
● Directly responsible for the planning, programming/scheduling, procurement of materials, tendering and
awarding of contract for the road section.
● Prepared the initial design for the spoon drain and trapezoidal drain structures to be constructed along
that road section and the design was approved for construction by the consultant (Cardno Ltd) engaged
by the company to overseer the works.
● Mentoring, coaching and upskilling subordinates in the techniques and specifications of road works
pertaining to pavement preparation and sealing works.
CIVIL/ ROAD SUPERVISOR – NEWCREST MINING LTD
MINING DEPARTMENT – EXTERNAL OPERATIONS

Reporting directly to the Mine Contracts Superintendent and responsible for planning of works to be
performed according to company priorities, on time, within budget and to required standards. Ensuring that
the company’s business needs are met and delivered with consistently high standards of occupational
health, safety and environment practices. Manage and supervise implementation of all operational road works
& civil works projects including planning, prioritizing and management of contractors, preparation of monthly
and weekly work schedules, daily tasks, improvement designs and contract management
Achievements
● Played an extremely active role in creating and compiling individual road section identification numbers for
Lihir Island road network with facility numbers for planning and scheduling purposes.
● Re-structured the RAMS (Road Asset Management System) document to enable the use of GPS to pick up
exact locations of the infrastructures for programming into the company GIS system.
● Due to extensive experience in roads I was able to provide technical input for creating and reviewing of
road maintenance standard to be used on Lihir Island Roads network maintenance conforming to PNG –
DoW and Ausroad standards
● My extensive experience in sealed roads maintenance provided the basis for creating of Pothole Patching
standards to be used on Lihir Island sealed road sections conforming to PNG – DoW and Ausroad
standards
● Review and redesign of Road Reserve Permit book Template and procuring of supplier to print for use on
site by company departments installing services along the road reserve
● Review and redesign of Road Inspection Sheet Template for use during road works inspections with
contractor representatives
● Invented and taught contractor personals on the use of Gabion Baskets as culvert headwalls in place of
concrete as part of company cost cutting drive and is the first of its kind in Papua New Guinea

February 2011 to June 2013
Reporting directly to the Technical Services Superintendent and responsible for planning of works to be
performed according to company priorities, on time, within budget and to required standards. Ensuring that
the company’s business needs are met and delivered with consistently high standards of occupational
health, safety and environment practices. Manage and supervise implementation of all operational road works
& civil works projects including planning, prioritizing and management of contractors, preparation of monthly
and weekly work schedules, daily tasks, improvement designs and contract management. Directly responsible
for preparing scope of works and cost estimates for minor projects including reviews of estimates done by
other team members. Participating and conducting meetings with landowners, contractors, stakeholders and
company line departments to progress the vision and goals of the company. Preparing improvement design
drawings for minor projects including material take off lists and procurement of the materials for projects and
road works.
Achievements
● Instrumental in teaching and advising Superintendent on all technical aspects of sealed and unsealed
road maintenance standards and specifications
● Demonstrated strong and quality leadership in supervising and coordinating co-workers and tasks which
resulted in the Superintendent delegating her authority to me whilst she was on field break.
● Proved and provided sound judgment and support to the Superintendent which resulted in delegation of
responsibility to review WPS (Work Performance Appraisals) for co-workers who were on my shift.
● Demonstrated in-depth skills and knowledge in scoping of works including cost and estimates which
provided the basis for being responsible for preparing & reviewing of scopes and cost estimates for all
minor projects.
● Coordinated and documented the RAMS document (Road Asset Management System) for Lihir Island Road
networks which captured all the infrastructure information regarding type, size, location and condition.
● Provided technical questions for conducting interviews and assisted Superintendent with interviews and
recruitment process of personals for our team.

issuing safe work permits for co-workers who were employed before me.

OIL SEARCH TAX CREDIT SCHEME - July 2007 to December 2009
Had the responsibility of managing 10 direct reports (Supervisors – 9 local & 1 expat) who were responsible
for the supervision of landowner companies on road maintenance works in three different provinces (Hela,
Southern Highlands & Gulf) apart from supervising 2 x landowner companies on 2 x major road construction
projects in Hela & Gulf provinces. Actively involved in scoping of works for road and bridges maintenance
works as well as assisting senior civil engineer in preparing costs and estimates for the maintenance projects.
Conducting meetings with stakeholders, (GoPNG & SHPG) company line departments and landowner
companies including safety tool box and prestart meetings with contractors.
Achievements
● Designed and engineered a retaining wall with the use of trees removed from the road construction
works to be used as a retaining wall on the slopes to prevent the bulk of spoils from the cuts in entering
the river system and increasing the turbidity of the rivers and creeks
● Co-ordinated and delegated tasks for 2 x graduate civil engineers when senior civil engineer was
promoted.
* PROJECT ENGINEER
DEPARTMENT OF WORKS (WEWAK) - July 2004 to Oct 2005
Reporting directly to the Provincial Works Manager (contract owner) and responsible for managing and
supervising million Kina AusAid funded 25 km major road upgrading and sealing project on the Sepik Highway
from Dreikikier to Warasikau in the East Sepik province. I was the principle’s site representative managing and
supervising the contractor (FTM CONSTRUCTIONS) with responsibility for quality control and contractor
compliance with the contract schedules, specifications and standards. Reviewing of project schedules and cash
flow schedule, conducting monthly project meetings with contractor representatives and contractor owner
besides approving contractor monthly invoices. Monitoring of progress against schedule and BOQ to ensure
project is delivered on time within contract duration. Identifying and implementing “best practice” solutions
that will improve the current systems and practices thus resulting in optimum results.

DEPARTMENT OF WORKS (WEWAK) - Feb 2003 to June 2004
Reporting directly to the Provincial Works Manager (contract owner) and responsible for managing and
supervising million Kina AusAid funded 50 km major road upgrading and sealing project on the Sepik Highway
from Maprik to Dreikikier in the East Sepik province. I was the principle’s site representative managing and
supervising the contractor (DEKENAI CONSTRUCTIONS) with responsibility for quality control and contractor
compliance with the contract schedules, specifications and standards. Reviewing of project schedules, cash
flow schedule, conducting monthly project meetings with contractor representatives and contractor owner
besides approving contractor monthly invoices. Monitoring of progress against schedule and BOQ to ensure
project is delivered on time within contract duration. Identifying and implementing “best practice” solutions
that will improve the current systems and practices thus resulting in optimum results.
Achievements
● Redesign of the ‘Type 3’ stone pitched lined drain to concrete lined drain which was approved by the
AusAid Technical Officer (SMEC) for use on the project and has since been used on all road projects in
East Sepik and PNG
● Redesign of culvert concrete ‘catch pit’ and ‘headwall’ which allowed for the lined drain to tie into which was
approved by the AUSAID Technical officer (SMEC) for construction on the project and has since been used
on all road projects in East Sepik and PNG
● Played key role in collating and compiling scope of works for two other major AUSAID funded road upgrade
and sealing contracts from Warabung to Maprik and Hayfield to Pagwi in the East Sepik province

DEPARTMENT OF WORKS (WEWAK) – 2002 to 2003
Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and skills in administering minor works contract which enabled me to
totally fulfill the role of the project engineer when he was transferred.
Reporting directly to the Provincial Civil Engineer and responsible for scoping of works for minor works
contracts (Road maintenance, Bridge maintenance, Gabion retaining walls, Concrete lined drains, Spoon
drains, Stone pitch lined drains, Pothole Patching, Pavement repair, Concrete head walls, Footpath, River
training works & Line marking)
Instrumental in preparing of contract document which included; BOQ, cost estimates, engineering drawings,
specifications, standards and schedules besides calling of tender, tender evaluation and awarding of tenders
apart from supervision of the works.
‫٭‬ PROJECT SUPERVISOR
DEPARTMENT OF WORKS (WEWAK) - 2001 to 2002
Reporting directly to the Project Engineer and responsible for supervising contractor on million Kina AusAid
funded 21 km major road upgrading and sealing project on the Angoram highway from Passam to Tumerau in
the East Sepik province.
I was the site supervisor coordinating works on the ground and ensuring that contractor resources were
employed efficiently, delivering works to quality standards, conforming to all standards and specification
including quality control on all aspects of the project from pavement preparation to slip repair works including
drainage and culvert works. Delegated the task of measuring the contractors daily works progress and
certifying of the contractors invoice.
* PROJECT SUPERVISOR
DEPARTMENT OF WORKS (WEWAK) – 2000
Responsible for planning and coordinating the regravelling works on an 18 km road section thru 3 direct
reports along the Coastal highway from Hawain to Boiken in the East Sepik Province. Reporting directly to the
Provincial Civil Engineer and ensuring that contract resources were employed efficiently and delivering works
to quality standards within agreed time frames. Monitoring of progress against plan and budget allocation and
where necessary to resolve shortfalls. Managing 3 direct reports and teaching technical aspects of road works
to develop their capabilities.
* PROJECT SUPERVISOR
DEPARTMENT OF WORKS (WEWAK) – 1996 to 1997
Managing and supervising 3 direct reports who were responsible for supervising the construction of gabion
retaining wall on major landslip sections along the Sepik highway from Passam to Tuonumbu. Reporting
directly to the AusAid Technical Officer (SMEC) and responsible for planning and coordinating the works to
ensure that resources are employed efficiently to deliver works to specified standards and quality. Monitoring
and measuring performance against plans and schedule. Ensured that all aspects of the works conformed to
technical specifications and standards as specified. Conducted training sessions for villagers who were
employed in the construction works in technical specifications and standards for constructing gabion retaining
walls.
* PROJECT SUPERVISOR
DEPARTMENT OF WORKS (WEWAK) – 1992 to 1993
Displayed outstanding leadership and supervisory skills on previous project and was delegated the
responsibility of constructing and sealing of 2.5 km road thru 5 direct reports from Kreer to Boram Airport in
Wewak. Reporting directly to the Project Engineer and totally responsible for planning and coordinating the
works from initial survey, clearing and grubbing, earthworks, pavement works, culvert works, drainage works
and sealing works. Liaising and consulting with relevant stakeholders including landowners in the execution of
the works in a professional and cooperative manner. Ensuring that contract resources were employed
efficiently in delivering works to specifications and quality standards. Monitoring of quality control and
progress against plan and budget including mentoring and coaching of reports in developing their capabilities
and technical skills. Delivered the project on time and within budget.
* PROJECT SUPERVISOR
DEPARTMENT OF WORKS (WEWAK) – 1990 to 1991
Demonstrated exceptional supervisor skills combined with expertise and quality leadership thereby
nominated by the Provincial Civil Engineer to supervise major road upgrading and sealing works on a 21 km
road along the Coastal Highway from Brandi bridge to Siir village. Reporting directly to the Project Engineer
and responsible for planning and coordinating the upgrading and sealing works thru 5 direct reports including
construction of 2 x compact bailey bridges. Ensuring that resources were employed efficiently in delivering
works to specifications and quality standards. Monitoring of quality control and progress against plan and
budget including mentoring and coaching of reports in developing their capabilities and technical skills. Liaising
and consulting with relevant stakeholders in the execution of the works in a professional and cooperative
manner. Delivered the project on time and within budget.
ACHIVEMENTS
● Member of IEPNG (Institute of Engineers Papua New Guinea) and SPEA (South Pacific Engineers Association)
which entitles me to privileges under the rules and regulations of the Institution.
● Trained and developed trainees under my supervision in the technicalities of road works including
concrete works which has brought success to them in promotions.
● Supervising major projects with senior officers reporting to me has changed the performance of the team in
delivering projects within budget and designated time frame.

EARLIER CAREER 1983 - 1990
Upon graduation from College in 1981, I commenced work with the Department of Works in Wewak as a
Trainee Technical Officer, and was selected from amongst the other Trainees to undertake the newly created
Civil Traineeship Scheme (Apprenticeship) at the Department of Works Civil Engineering Training Centre in the
Madang Province from 1985 to 1988.
The training established the basis for persevering in the field of civil engineering encompassing all aspects of
roads and bridge works. Displayed professional work ethics combined with exceptional and natural ability to
lead enabling progress rapidly up the ladder to supervisory roles. Played an extremely active role in supporting
the Provincial Civil Engineer and AusAid technical Officer which inspired further training in which I was the
only personal amongst my co-workers in Wewak to obtain a Diploma in Civil Engineering.

CIVIL/ ROAD SUPERVISOR – NEWCREST MINING LTD MINING DEPARTMENT – EXTERNAL OPERATIONS July 2013 to June 2014 Reporting directly to the Mine Contracts Superintendent and responsible for planning of works to be performed according to company priorities, on time, within budget and to required standards. Ensuring that the company’s business needs are met and delivered with consistently high standards of occupational health, safety and environment practices. Manage and supervise implementation of all operational road works & civil works projects including planning, prioritizing and management of contractors, preparation of monthly and weekly work schedules, daily tasks, improvement designs and contract management Achievements ● Played an extremely active role in creating and compiling individual road section identification numbers for Lihir Island road network with facility numbers for planning and scheduling purposes. ● Re-structured the RAMS (Road Asset Management System) document to enable the use of GPS to pick up exact locations of the infrastructures for programming into the company GIS system. ● Due to extensive experience in roads I was able to provide technical input for creating and reviewing of road maintenance standard to be used on Lihir Island Roads network maintenance conforming to PNG – DoW and Ausroad standards ● My extensive experience in sealed roads maintenance provided the basis for creating of Pothole Patching standards to be used on Lihir Island sealed road sections conforming to PNG – DoW and Ausroad standards ● Review and redesign of Road Reserve Permit book Template and procuring of supplier to print for use on site by company departments installing services along the road reserve ● Review and redesign of Road Inspection Sheet Template for use during road works inspections with contractor representatives ● Invented and taught contractor personals on the use of Gabion Baskets as culvert headwalls in place of concrete as part of company cost cutting drive and is the first of its kind in Papua New Guinea CIVIL/ ROAD SUPERVISOR – NEWCREST MINING LTD SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT – TECHNICAL SERVICES February 2011 to June 2013 Reporting directly to the Technical Services Superintendent and responsible for planning of works to be performed according to company priorities, on time, within budget and to required standards. Ensuring that the company’s business needs are met and delivered with consistently high standards of occupational health, safety and environment practices. Manage and supervise implementation of all operational road works & civil works projects including planning, prioritizing and management of contractors, preparation of monthly and weekly work schedules, daily tasks, improvement designs and contract management. Directly responsible for preparing scope of works and cost estimates for minor projects including reviews of estimates done by other team members. Participating and conducting meetings with landowners, contractors, stakeholders and company line departments to progress the vision and goals of the company. Achievements ● Instrumental in teaching and advising Superintendent on all technical aspects of sealed and unsealed road maintenance standards and specifications ● Demonstrated strong and quality leadership in supervising and coordinating co-workers and tasks which resulted in the Superintendent delegating her authority to me whilst she was on field break. ● Proved and provided sound judgment and support to the Superintendent which resulted in delegation of responsibility to review WPS (Work Performance Appraisals) for co-workers who were on my shift. ● Demonstrated in-depth skills and knowledge in scoping of works including cost and estimates which provided the basis for being responsible for preparing & reviewing of scopes and cost estimates for all minor projects. ● Coordinated and documented the RAMS document (Road Asset Management System) for Lihir Island Road networks which captured all the infrastructure information regarding type, size, location and condition. ● Provided technical questions for conducting interviews and assisted Superintendent with interviews and recruitment process of personals for our team. ● Demonstrated high safety standard and culture whereby I gained my permit issuer certificate and was issuing safe work permits for co-workers who were employed before me. ‫٭‬ SENIOR CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR OIL SEARCH TAX CREDIT SCHEME - July 2007 to December 2009 Had the responsibility of managing 10 direct reports (Supervisors – 9 local & 1 expat) who were responsible for the supervision of landowner companies on road maintenance works in three different provinces (Hela, Southern Highlands & Gulf) apart from supervising 2 x landowner companies on 2 x major road construction projects in Hela & Gulf provinces. Actively involved in scoping of works for road and bridges maintenance works as well as assisting senior civil engineer in preparing costs and estimates for the maintenance projects. Conducting meetings with stakeholders, (GoPNG & SHPG) company line departments and landowner companies including safety tool box and prestart meetings with contractors. Achievements ● Designed and engineered a retaining wall with the use of trees removed from the road construction works to be used as a retaining wall on the slopes to prevent the bulk of spoils from the cuts in entering the river system and increasing the turbidity of the rivers and creeks ● Co-ordinated and delegated tasks for 2 x graduate civil engineers when senior civil engineer was promoted. * PROJECT ENGINEER DEPARTMENT OF WORKS (WEWAK) - July 2004 to Oct 2005 Reporting directly to the Provincial Works Manager (contract owner) and responsible for managing and supervising million Kina AusAid funded 25 km major road upgrading and sealing project on the Sepik Highway from Dreikikier to Warasikau in the East Sepik province. I was the principle’s site representative managing and supervising the contractor (FTM CONSTRUCTIONS) with responsibility for quality control and contractor compliance with the contract schedules, specifications and standards. Reviewing of project schedules and cash flow schedule, conducting monthly project meetings with contractor representatives and contractor owner besides approving contractor monthly invoices. Monitoring of progress against schedule and BOQ to ensure project is delivered on time within contract duration. Identifying and implementing “best practice” solutions that will improve the current systems and practices thus resulting in optimum results.

I was the principle’s site representative managing and supervising the contractor (DEKENAI CONSTRUCTIONS) with responsibility for quality control and contractor compliance with the contract schedules, specifications and standards. Reviewing of project schedules, cash flow schedule, conducting monthly project meetings with contractor representatives and contractor owner besides approving contractor monthly invoices. Monitoring of progress against schedule and BOQ to ensure project is delivered on time within contract duration. Identifying and implementing “best practice” solutions that will improve the current systems and practices thus resulting in optimum results. Achievements ● Redesign of the ‘Type 3’ stone pitched lined drain to concrete lined drain which was approved by the AusAid Technical Officer (SMEC) for use on the project and has since been used on all road projects in East Sepik and PNG ● Redesign of culvert concrete ‘catch pit’ and ‘headwall’ which allowed for the lined drain to tie into which was approved by the AUSAID Technical officer (SMEC) for construction on the project and has since been used on all road projects in East Sepik and PNG ● Played key role in collating and compiling scope of works for two other major AUSAID funded road upgrade and sealing contracts from Warabung to Maprik and Hayfield to Pagwi in the East Sepik province ‫٭‬ WORKS SUPERVISOR DEPARTMENT OF WORKS (WEWAK) – 2002 to 2003 Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and skills in administering minor works contract which enabled me to totally fulfill the role of the project engineer when he was transferred. Reporting directly to the Provincial Civil Engineer and responsible for scoping of works for minor works contracts (Road maintenance, Bridge maintenance, Gabion retaining walls, Concrete lined drains, Spoon drains, Stone pitch lined drains, Pothole Patching, Pavement repair, Concrete head walls, Footpath, River training works & Line marking) Instrumental in preparing of contract document which included; BOQ, cost estimates, engineering drawings, specifications, standards and schedules besides calling of tender, tender evaluation and awarding of tenders apart from supervision of the works. ‫٭‬ PROJECT SUPERVISOR DEPARTMENT OF WORKS (WEWAK) - 2001 to 2002 Reporting directly to the Project Engineer and responsible for supervising contractor on million Kina AusAid funded 21 km major road upgrading and sealing project on the Angoram highway from Passam to Tumerau in the East Sepik province. I was the site supervisor coordinating works on the ground and ensuring that contractor resources were employed efficiently, delivering works to quality standards, conforming to all standards and specification including quality control on all aspects of the project from pavement preparation to slip repair works including drainage and culvert works. Delegated the task of measuring the contractors daily works progress and certifying of the contractors invoice.
  • 6. * PROJECT SUPERVISOR DEPARTMENT OF WORKS (WEWAK) – 2000 Responsible for planning and coordinating the regravelling works on an 18 km road section thru 3 direct reports along the Coastal highway from Hawain to Boiken in the East Sepik Province. Reporting directly to the Provincial Civil Engineer and ensuring that contract resources were employed efficiently and delivering works to quality standards within agreed time frames. Monitoring of progress against plan and budget allocation and where necessary to resolve shortfalls. Managing 3 direct reports and teaching technical aspects of road works to develop their capabilities. * PROJECT SUPERVISOR DEPARTMENT OF WORKS (WEWAK) – 1996 to 1997 Managing and supervising 3 direct reports who were responsible for supervising the construction of gabion retaining wall on major landslip sections along the Sepik highway from Passam to Tuonumbu. Reporting directly to the AusAid Technical Officer (SMEC) and responsible for planning and coordinating the works to ensure that resources are employed efficiently to deliver works to specified standards and quality. Monitoring and measuring performance against plans and schedule. Ensured that all aspects of the works conformed to technical specifications and standards as specified. Conducted training sessions for villagers who were employed in the construction works in technical specifications and standards for constructing gabion retaining walls. * PROJECT SUPERVISOR DEPARTMENT OF WORKS (WEWAK) – 1992 to 1993 Displayed outstanding leadership and supervisory skills on previous project and was delegated the responsibility of constructing and sealing of 2.5 km road thru 5 direct reports from Kreer to Boram Airport in Wewak. Reporting directly to the Project Engineer and totally responsible for planning and coordinating the works from initial survey, clearing and grubbing, earthworks, pavement works, culvert works, drainage works and sealing works. Liaising and consulting with relevant stakeholders including landowners in the execution of the works in a professional and cooperative manner. Ensuring that contract resources were employed efficiently in delivering works to specifications and quality standards. Monitoring of quality control and progress against plan and budget including mentoring and coaching of reports in developing their capabilities and technical skills. Delivered the project on time and within budget. * PROJECT SUPERVISOR DEPARTMENT OF WORKS (WEWAK) – 1990 to 1991 Demonstrated exceptional supervisor skills combined with expertise and quality leadership thereby nominated by the Provincial Civil Engineer to supervise major road upgrading and sealing works on a 21 km road along the Coastal Highway from Brandi bridge to Siir village. Reporting directly to the Project Engineer and responsible for planning and coordinating the upgrading and sealing works thru 5 direct reports including construction of 2 x compact bailey bridges. Ensuring that resources were employed efficiently in delivering works to specifications and quality standards. ACHIVEMENTS ● Member of IEPNG (Institute of Engineers Papua New Guinea) and SPEA (South Pacific Engineers Association) which entitles me to privileges under the rules and regulations of the Institution. ● Trained and developed trainees under my supervision in the technicalities of road works including concrete works which has brought success to them in promotions. ● Supervising major projects with senior officers reporting to me has changed the performance of the team in delivering projects within budget and designated time frame. EARLIER CAREER 1983 - 1990 Upon graduation from College in 1981, I commenced work with the Department of Works in Wewak as a Trainee Technical Officer, and was selected from amongst the other Trainees to undertake the newly created Civil Traineeship Scheme (Apprenticeship) at the Department of Works Civil Engineering Training Centre in the Madang Province from 1985 to 1988. The training established the basis for persevering in the field of civil engineering encompassing all aspects of roads and bridge works. Displayed professional work ethics combined with exceptional and natural ability to lead enabling progress rapidly up the ladder to supervisory roles. Played an extremely active role in supporting the Provincial Civil Engineer and AusAid technical Officer which inspired further training in which I was the only personal amongst my co-workers in Wewak to obtain a Diploma in Civil Engineering.
