guidelines. Obtained special permits as and when necessary and ensured the paperwork is
recorded and stored properly.
- plans, regulations, specifications and safety measures.
- Maintained strict quality control procedures and ensured conformance to technical provisions.
- Reviewed and approved contractor’s method statements, responded to requests for design
information, conducted monthly quantity take-off and reviewed monthly statements and

timelines and budgets were on track.
- Made proposals and commented on issues concerning contracts and determined the course of
events during the progress of construction works.
- Recommended and executed, after approval by the clients, realignments of several stretches
of roads that were found, during design verification, to pass through unstable grounds and or
have inappropriate design parameters; these solutions often led to cost reduction in
comparison to the initial design alignment.
- Supervised the design and construction of numerous small and large drainage structures
including major river crossings.
- Superintended route selection, design and cost estimation for long stretches of road
alignments in several topographical conditions.
- Supervised construction staff and ensured that they have access to and are properly trained
in the use of all safety gear. Evaluated technical issues encountered by construction crews
and provided appropriate solutions.
Materials Engineer and Deputy Resident Engineer on several road construction project

- Reviewed mix designs, verified job-mix formula and set out in-place acceptance criteria
based on the project specification for continuously graded asphalt concrete surfacing.
- Prepared quality control plan.
- Studied and interpreted contract documents and design specification.
- Superintended the exploration and evaluation of quality and quantity of gravel material for
incorporation into pavement construction works.
- Supervised peer and abutment foundation sites and designed foundation excavation depth.
- Actively participated in locating quarry site for production of crushed stone for construction of
base layer, aggregates for surfacing and aggregates for concrete and hot mix asphalt production.
- Analyzed and interpreted field survey in-situ test results, laboratory test results and traffic
data in the preparation of soils/materials, Geotechnical and pavement design evaluation
reports.
- Reviewed, studied and approved qualities of all materials proposed by the contractor for
incorporation into the works.
- Reviewed construction designs and proposed improvements.
