Various Wall thickness surveys on Power Stations.
Senior Technician managing work to be performed and interpretation of radiographs and review and acceptance of
NDE reports during shutdowns on power stations either day or night shift.

During this period I generated a Quality Management System based on the ISO 9000 series and was successful in
implementing the system for two S.M.M.E.s with subsequent positive audits by ESKOM and Steinmuller on the
companies involved.

Mossgas Turnaround. Removal of old waste heat (Make gas) boilers and Super heaters and replacement with new on

requirements. Liasing with night shift Third Party Inspector and co-ordinating night shift Non Destructive Testing.
Monitoring of heat treatment carried out during night shift on pipe work and vessels.

Sasol III Turnaround on Synfuel Plant responsible for ensuring that work was carried out in accordance with client
and code requirements.

Head Office and Site based at Arnot Power Station during the A.C.P. Project for Units 4 & 5 rehabilitation of turbine pipe work for return to service after mothballing. Control of relining of valves with Corrocoat lining to fill corroded areas and reduce further erosion. Inspection of all pipe work, valves, plant, structural steel and vessels covered under the contract. Generation and presentation of reports and recommendations for remedial work to be carried out to ensure reliable and safe running of the units for 6 years. Generation of work package by contract scope section to enable site supervision to manage the scope of work as required and to ensure that all inspection requirements were adhered to. Generation of Quality Inspection Plans for all Major or Critical components and the control of their implementation. Drawings and sketches of site run pipework and structural steelwork.
