Topic: The Teacher: An Induction Program
This topic is important especially as a future because it initiate the role and function
of teacher as the foundation of student’s learning. The discussant starts with the teacher
induction as it is a professional development program that mentoring and is designed to
offer support, guidance, and orientation for beginning teachers during the transition into
their first teaching jobs. It is very significant for the newly hired teacher because it provides
a meaningful and individualized induction experience that had professional growth,
reflection, and collaboration in order to create rich learning environments where students
can succeed. It also helps them to become competent and effective professionals in the
classroom.
This kind of program aims to develop teachers to be more prepared to meet the
learning needs of the students. Developing a solid teacher induction program can ease
the transition for new staff, giving them the time, support and relationships, they need to.
It is their support system to assist them adapting to new workplace culture. In this case
new teachers will be able to understand students, classes and curriculum. They are more
confident to work and come up with more effective plan and assessment.
