It is organized in general school . The stage of 
educational path has a clear educational levels, it is 
begun from primary education, secondary education, 
to higher education, activity-oriented studies and 
general academic, specialized programs, and 
professional training, which is carried out in a 
continuous time
It is any organized and systematic activities, outside 
the school system conducted independently or 
constitute an important part of a wider activity that 
intentionally done to serve the particular learners in 
achieving the goal of continuous learning
The bigest amount of learners is at early age, as well 
as basic education, TPA or Quran Education Park, 
which is widely available in every mosque, and 
Sunday school which is contained in all the 
churches.
- The place of learning in the school building. 
- There are special requirements to become learners. 
- The curriculum is clear. 
- Learning academic material. 
- The process of education takes a long time 
- There is a formal exam 
- Education provider is public or private. 
- The teachers have a particular classification. 
- Organized by the uniform administration
- The learning can be outside of the school building 
- Sometimes there are no special requirements. 
- Generally do not have a clear path. 
- There are certain programs that specifically want 
addressed. 
- Characteristically practical and specific. 
- Education is short-lived 
- Sometimes there is a test 
- Can be organized by government or private.
- The learning could be anywhere. 
- There is no requirement 
- Not tiered 
- There is no formal program planned 
- There is no material that should be 
presented formally. 
- There is no test. 
- There is no organization as organizer.
TARGET: 
Non-formal education is organized for citizens who 
require educational services that serves as a 
replacement, addition, and / or complement formal 
education in support of lifelong education.
FUNCTION: 
Non-formal school serves to develop the learners 
potential with an emphasis on the mastery of 
knowledge and functional skills as well as 
professional attitude and personality development
Educational paths in Indonesia include 
formal, non-formal and informal school, 
there are the differences exist and 
complement each other. Pathways 
through which education is a vehicle for 
learners to develop their own potential 
in the education process in accordance 
with the purpose of education.
