The document describes Oliver Frost's process for creating various elements of a magazine. It includes creating a logo using shapes and colors. A photo is selected for the magazine cover showing a rollercoaster. Additional elements are added to the cover like rectangles to fill space, shadows, and text about the ride. A page reviews the ride and includes borders around photos. Other elements created include a grid for a word search puzzle and a section with photos about past rides at the site.
2. PROCESS
First of all I had to create my
logo for my magazine cover
and based on the my
experimental logos. I mainly
used shapes to create the
logo then used the paint
bucket tool to give it colours.
I also got the font from
1001fonts.com. Once I
made to logo, I used the
blending options like the
drop shadow effect to make
to logo look even better. In
my opinion this logo is great
and and I enjoyed creating
it.
3. PROCESS
I created a my own company
logo from the logo I have on
twitter. I have altered it a bit
by removing the circle
around it and just sticking
with the letters. The logo
stands for “Olly Frost”. I used
shapes for this such as the
Line tool and the Ellipse tool.
I used the paint bucket for
the colour and then used a
black drop shadow for the
final touches. I like how
simple the logo is as you
don’t need lots going on for a
good logo.
4. PROCESS
I took this photo and it will be the one
that I will be using for my magazine
cover as the track of the rollercoaster
goes well with it as it looks like when
you open the magazine the track
would come with it.
To cover up the white spaces that
the picture didn't reach I put purple
rectangles instead of stretching the
photo as it looks better and is more
professional. I used drop shadow
and inner shadow to make the
rectangles look better with the
photo.
This is the final version of the
magazine cover. I have added the
text to go on the the magazine
cover and the big text is telling
you about the ride in the
background. I used a yellow drop
shadow on the text as it goes with
the colour scheme of the
magazine. I added the logo I
made in the top left hand corner
and I put my company logo down
at the bottom to recognize that
the product is mine. I really like
how this turned out as the
magazine cover looks very
professional and well done.
5. PROCESS
This page is a review of
the ride on the magazine
cover. For this I took a
review from a website
called riderater.co.uk. I
had some photos of the
ride so I put them in there
as well and made a border
around them using
shapes. I then used drop
shadow to make the
photos seem as they are
jumping out the page.
6. PROCESS
This is the grid for my word
search. I used the line tool to
create the grid.
This is my completed word
search. All I did for this is that I
made a row of text and spaced
my letters out. I then just created
rollercoaster related words to put
in the word search.
Here I created a section in my
magazine called Past and Present.
This is all about past rides that has
been on the site of the new ride. I took
the top photo from google and I took
the other photo myself.
