2. The next few slides show experiments of page layout. All of them were all
produced on the program InDesign which is a structured professional
program dedicated to creating and helping design layouts of pages.
This particular one I have produced has three columns and three rows. I
used the grid tool to organise my page to make sure that when I placed
something it was all neat and professionally set out. The first part of the
layout you see is the title, which I have made to be the largest aspect on
the page. It is important for the title to be inspiring and attractive for an
audience to want to read the article. Photographs are also a very
important aspect that is needed to help illustrate the story. I have made
these photographs large also for the audience to build a rapport and have
a good idea what is going to be included in the article. I placed the text in
all columns with the first two starting at the same point, I added a
photograph at the start of the third with the text following on underneath.
This creates a more personal affair with the branding and the kind of
company or aspect that is going to be talked about. In this case, the main
priority would be fashion.
3. This layout has also been produced using the three by three coordinates.
To create this layout I decided that I wanted to experiment with more than
just a plain white background. I gathered a photograph from the internet
as you can see this one symbolises fashion again and placed it into
InDesign using the place tool to make sure that it was the size that I
wanted it. I put the body of the article through the second and the third
columns starting at different heights due to the black imagery behind it
made it quite difficult to read. I used the Chanel logo on the first column to
make it more unique and to the audience.

5. The title is presented along the top and is the largest aspect on the page. I have created this as a three by three grid and
have used the body of the text to flow down the page almost like a ladder or stair effect. I changed the background colour
to see how different I can make the page look from the others(in a magazine). I used the paragraph tool to make the
starting letter larger then the rest of the copy to start the article off making it easier for the reader to know where they
need to start reading from. I have included a photograph at the bottom of the page which represents what the article
would be taking about. Where the text has stopped I have also allowed the background colour to stop. I have done this to
make the overall look more creative. The bottom of the page where the photograph is presented has the background
colour of white.
6. Here I have used a grid with three columns and four rows. I decided to
experiment and see what different tools and aspects I can use from the
program InDesign. I dedicated this one to have the theme of ‘Jeffrey
Campbell’ and used imagery of the shoes that are created by this brand. I
added the logo in at the top and changed the font to handwriting to fit in
with the overall theme. I added text starting from the second row down in
the middle column which ran onto the third column all the way to the fourth
row. I added imagery in the third and the fourth row which ran across onto
the second column. This is a well presented layout using the guidelines
provided.
7. Here I have used four columns and four rows. Using a larger grid allows you to
include more aspects such as photographs and key points that may only take up a
small bit of space. If was to use the photographs I have used on this layout design
on one of the others above, not all of my article would have fit according and
professionally. I needed to keep the designs neat and tidy to ensure that the audience
will find it easy to read. I have also used the paragraph tool to make the starting letter
larger as well as introduce the title as the largest aspect on the page. I have also
included a strapline to the layout which will follow through onto the story itself.
8. I have produced this lay out using a three by 5 grid guides on InDesign. I decided to
experiment with how creative and different I could make my layout look. I decided to use the
same photograph of the model but using different parts along with the original image. I also
decided to rotate some images to make it look unique. I kept within the guidelines of
InDesign to ensure that it still looked professional and neat with a little bit of an edge. I
decided to use the white space on the left hand side to make the image the main part of the
layout. I placed the text in the second and third columns using different widths to see what
can be achieved.
