INTRODUCTION
DNA: - deoxyribonucleic acid, a self-replicating material
which is present in nearly all living organisms as the main
constituent of chromosomes. It is the carrier of genetic
information.
Biological Function:-
• A DNA chip or biochip also commonly known as
DNA microarray is a collection of microscopic
DNA spots attached to a solid surface
• Each DNA spot contains picomoles of a specific
DNA sequence known as probes
WHAT IS DNA CHIP ?
 DNA is a universal and fundamental data storage mechanism
in biology.
 DNA digital data storage refers to any scheme to store digital
data in the base sequence of DNA. This technology uses
artificial DNA made using commercially available
oligonucleotides synthesis machines for storage and DNA
sequencing machines for retrieval.
 This type of storage system is more compact than current
magnetic tape or hard drive storage systems due to the data
density of the DNA.
USE AS DIGITAL DATA STORAGE
 Up to now approx 15,000,000,000,000 GB [
15zettabyte]
information available on internet. Which is stored in
many server…
Why DNA CHIP ?
 1cm DNA is capable to store
1zettabyte (1,000,000,000,000 GB )
information.
 All internet data may be stored
4cm DNA chip.

Store and recover some data successfully.
DNA TECHNOLOGY
Approx 2050 DNA
Technology can be seen.
CONCLUSION
 1cm DNA is capable to store 1 Zetta byte
(1,000,000,000,000 GB ) information
 DNA store data for long life.
 First Negative point -Slow Recovery .
 Second Negative point -Very Costly.
