๏ From a broad perspective I want to work in a sportscasting position. Radio or TV.
๏ Specifically working for a Major League Baseball team. Ideally in a warmer
climate. Like the Rangers or Marlins.

๏ I am a Full Sail student studying Sportscasting
๏ Efficient in the top Social Media Platforms
๏ Video content creator and editor on YouTube
4. SKILLS
๏ Skills that I can take and show to a future employer are
๏ Proficient in Adobe Creative Apps and Microsoft office apps
๏ Proficient in knowledge of the Sport I would be covering
๏ Multiple classes in sportscasting a vocal training.
5. PROFESSION
๏ I believe hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard.
๏ If I'm working harder then my competition I can achieve whatever I put my mind
to.
6. CREDENTIALS
๏ Through previous jobs, I have multiple references that say that I am trustworthy
and am timely when assigned tasks.
๏ I have a portfolio with work that I have done. If an employer wanted to see my
work I would be able to show them I am capable of what they would be asking.
7. PROMISE
๏ The ability to write my own scripts. Through my classes at Full Sail I will take
broadcast writing classes. I will also have knowledge of the industry going into it
due to my time at Full Sail.
๏ This appears to be a problem, people not writing their own scripts. Through
multiple job postings every posting has the requirement of writing your own
scripts.
8. POSITIONING
๏ Communication skills, comfortable in front of camera and public speaking. The
ability and willingness to try new things.
๏ By watching other people in my degree program, I know I am better at
communicating, having the ability to annunciate my words is huge in the type of
field I want to go into. I can also tell that some of them are nervous talking into a
camera where as I am very comfortable talking into a camera.
๏ Having these abilities will already put me ahead of my competition.
9. AUDIENCE
๏ A company I would like to work for would be ESPN. My audience would be
recruiters and talent acquisition employees.
๏ Through Linkedin I was able to find three recruiters working or worked for ESPN.
๏ Some of the common interests among the individuals are video games. They
were apart of gaming groups on Linkedin. Sports will be an interest for anyone at
ESPN. I also noticed Adobe apps being an interest. Fortunately for me I am tied
into all of those categories.
10. NETWORKING AND MARKETING
๏ I will get the attention of a future employer by having a following on social media
as well as recommendations from former employers.
๏ I can create a strong relationship with my audience by continuing to post content
related to current sport events.
๏ I will publish sports related content, focusing on Football, Basketball and
Baseball.
๏ I will attend events relating to sports broadcasting, to build up relationships with
people already in the industry.
11. COMPETITORS
๏ People currently in the industry. Or have connections already
๏ People going to Full Sail University that are in the Sportscasting degree program.
๏ People attending Hofstra University in Hempstead NY. They have a radio station
that is the main station for the New York Islanders.
๏ Ricardo Hicks from Newport News. 30 years old. Attends Full Sail going through
the Sportscasting degree program.
12. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
๏ The big thing that I will need to improve on is getting experience in the field. I
believe I can meet all of the other requirements listed in job descriptions.
Especially when I complete my Sportscasting degree program. I am confident in
my abilities. I will just need to start building experience in the field.
13. GOALS
๏ I want to be more active on social media. Focusing on YouTube and Twitter.
๏ I want to start posting more sports related content. Starting with a sports related
podcast on YouTube.
๏ I want to get 1000 subscribers and followers on YouTube and Twitter by July 1,
2019
๏ I will accomplish this goal by continuing to post quality content,
๏ By growing my following it will show to future employers that people will watch
and listen to me.
