3. INTRODUCTION
KSTPS is first coal based power plat in Rajasthan.
The first unit of capacity 110 MW is synchronized on17th Jan
1983.
KSTPS has total generation capacity of 1240 MW.
In 1973 central electricity authority prepared a project report for
power station.
In 1976 planning commission cleared project report.

7. BOILER
It is a closed vessel in which
water under pressure is convert
into steam.
Hot water or steam used to
transfer heat to a process.
A boiler is always designed to
absorb max. Amount of heat
released in process of
combustion.
8. SUPER HEATER
The super heater is a heat exchanger in which heat is
transferred to the saturated steam to increase its temperature.
It raises the overall cycle efficiency.
It increases the turbine internal efficiency.
It composed of four sections.
9. Economizer
An economizer is a heat
exchanger which raises the
temperature of the feed water
about the saturation
temperature corresponding to
the boiler pressure.
This is done by the hot flue
gases exiting the last super
heater or Re-heater at a
temperature varying from 370` C
to 540` C. For higher efficiency
and better economy achieved.
10. STEAM TURBINE
A steam turbine is a device that extracts THERMAL ENERGY
from pressurized steam.
The steam turbine is a form of heat engine which use multiple
stages in expansion of steam.
It gives output in form of rotary motion, it is particularly suited to
be used to drive an electrical generator
11. ELECTRICITY GENERATOR
An electrical generator is a
machine which converts
mechanical energy into
electrical energy through
ELECTRO MECHANICAL
ENERGY CONVERSION.
The generator is driven by
directly coupled steam turbine
at a speed of 3000 RPM.
12. Water treatment
Pressure filter removes
Impurities from raw water.
Dematerializing treatment
plant removes dissolved
impurities from clarified
water.
Conductivity, pH & silica
content of this water must be
checked time to time.
13. CONTROL ROOM
Control room monitors
the overall operation of
the plant. It is provided
with controls for real and
reactive power flow.
It is provided with safety
relays and switchgears.
