New

the family (its
members)
- mama
-grandpa
- grandma

- This is
mama/dad.
- This is
grandpa/grandma.
- This is
sister/brother.
- Special
attention paid to
mum/dad -
grandpa/grandma
and
sister/brother. **
I’ve never said I’d encourage them to practice isolated words, I was just saying that, as I
specified in the “Structure” box, they are going to practice the sentences “this is mum”,
for example, and through repetition I’d try to make them produce the correct
pronunciation of the family members.
• Materials and resources: pictures, videos, poster, CD.
• Integration of skills: listening (to the songs from the videos) and
speaking.
• Seating arrangement: all around a big table or on the floor
• Possible problems / difficulties and their possible solutions during the
class: the songs could not be listened properly because of the autistic child,
in which case, we'll watch them again.
• Potential problems students may have with the language: the
pronunciation of brother and sister, but with practice they'll do better.**
Because all the kids I know (cousins, nephews, my friends’ children) have
problems to pronounce the word brother, and sometimes sister too, so I
supposed that these kids could have the same difficulty.
• Assessment: the ability students have to name and recognize the family
members.
Routine (5’)
- Good morning kids! How are you? Fine? I’m very happy to see you
again! Come with me, let’s sit on the floor.
- Let’s sing the Hello song! Hello children, hello children, how are you?
how are you? how are you this morning, how are you this morning? fine,
thanks, fine, thanks.
- Good my dears!
