Steal like An Artist
1. I love this portrait because it
looks like the face is emerging
from abyss. This portrait only
focuses on the person forehead
to the chin he gives a emotion
and the seriousness in the
photo.
The picture is contrast lighting
focusing on the face and the
black in the background showing
shadows in the face.
The model that is being used in
this photo is a adult. I would use
my friend to represent this shot.
I think that the shot is being
used in the studio to create the
background and the shadows.
I can use the studio to create the
image. The props that is being
used in this photo is the glass,
when creating this photo I need
to buy the glasses from the shop.
2. I love the concept of this shot. I think it is a
very unique idea that has been well
executed. The nose, eyes and lips of the
models are perfectly superimposed to create
an interesting and arresting image.
It looks like a studio light has been used. The
angle of the light that picks out the contours
of the faces creates a strong contrast with
the shadows and the black background.
The models used are a young woman and
man. I should be able to use some students
in college to act as stand ins. I think that the
shot was taken in a studio. I would be able to
use the studio in college in order to recreate
it. The only costume I would need to have
access to is a cap for the man, this should not
be difficult for me to source.
3. I like this shot because I think the lighting technique used is simple but unique and
effective. It makes what might have been an ordinary picture far more visually interesting.
The main prop that is needed to recreate this photograph would be a set of blinds in order
to create this particular lighting effect.
The image is lit using natural light. The slats of the blind create a striking contrast between
light and shadow that highlights the contours of the model’s in an
interesting and surprising way. I think the main purpose of this photograph is to photograph
a particular lighting exercise.
The model is a young man. If I was to recreate this photo I would use a classmate
as a stand in for the model. The shot was taken by a window with blinds on a bright day. I
would hopefully be able to recreate this in a classroom in college.
In terms, of costume I should be able to source a hooded top and white T shirt for the
model to wear.
