For my next project as a group we created a film documentary minimum 5 minute
long. As a group we had the discussion to what subjects we should create and it was very
important to know what we wanted to create and knowing people to interview, which was
very important. One of my teammate Duran suggested creating a The Health and effects that
Shisha brings documentary and he knew few people that we could interview such as a doctor
from General Practice and his friend that was smoking shisha in the past few years.
The group had to decide on the angle we would take with the shisha and so we
undertook research to find statistics on the use shisha. We included it in my documentary by
using audio recorder. The voice was not that good when editing because the volume in the
sound was very low. When I was checking the volume it had allot of problems such capturing
background noises such as cars driving, airplane noises, people walking and many other
things interfering.
We wanted to create a film documentary to notifying the audience that causes the
Shisha has in the human body and the affects. The world that we are living in is very
demanding and they only think in how to expend their business in the Shisha.
Other strength was that I knew how to use Finial Cut Program , so I found recording
and editing quite easy. My other strength was in my planning, and I was right in thinking that
this would be a subject that people would be interested in, and would have a lot to say about.
When filming the documentary we had a lot of problems such as the camera was
focus manually without noticing when filming the camera shot scenes was not focusing
rightly so it was not really good when watching the clips. In future assignments I will ensure
the camera is in the right format. We should have organised this properly this time but only
found the problems when I looked at the footage when I was editing.
We could not film the scene the doctor had no time and it was very difficult has he
been working in the hospital. The other programs that we had was everyone was afraid of
been in the camera so it was very difficult to find someone to talk about they experience in
using Shisha.
It is very difficult to create a documentary film. For me it was my first time creating
one I found it very difficult. As I only filmed three people and asking them regarding Shisha.
So my colleague and I used our self in the documentary showing the effects that shisha brings
on the person.
It was challenging in many ways for me and my group to complete this task because
we could not find allot of people to film regarding Shisha. As well as that allot of people were
to shy for interview. As result of that my team member group and I had to improvise by using
Shisha smoking to make the documentary longer so that we can record the Shisha Statics.
The difference between my production and professional people that makes movies
they use professional productions sounds more professional because of their experience and
it’s also their full time job, professional people will also have a whole database with sound
effects and technology that they could use to get the perfect film. I was using Finial Cut
Program free sound track.

When creating my proposal I wrote as much as detail I could making sure I cover all
the areas as I could, however when editing my documentary I changed some things such as I
think that my documentary will be appropriate for the audience I have chosen which is
teenagers and adults, both male and female will watch because it has a lot of interesting areas
such as reviews.
In my opinion my production was the best of my ability with the limited resources
that I had, I think that with more equipment and resources I could create a better version film
production. As well as that if I had time with the people that I interviewed I could have
achieved better documentary.
In conclusion I think that this assignment was very interesting and enjoyable because
during this course we had to record something that no one in my class had the idea. As well
during this time I learned that when filming I should check everything out before filming
regardless where I am.
