Introduction:
A secondary school is a very important educational institute in a country that
influences learning outcomes of secondary school students. An effective school is
a school was successful in educating students of all backgrounds, regardless of
socio-economic status or family backgrounds. A secondary school must requires a
managers who success in caring out the organizational goals of their school. We
knew a school manager as a headmaster.
A secondary school is a organization in this sense that an organization is a
structure operate by group of individuals who are working together towards a
common goal. As a organization secondary school has some goals and objectives.
To fulfill this goals and objectives, the overall management system has to play an
important role in a secondary school. The headmaster plays the main role in this
process. He must be afford to manage all the activities that held in a secondary
school. He must have the ability to create such an environment in school from
where every student can learn. The success of a secondary school depends on
skilled management system. So management system is very important for a
secondary school.
The term is leadership. It is very important and a part of management. In institute
like secondary school success mostly depends on skilled leadership. Bush
,Robinson and others says- educational leadership is a primarily concerned with
the educational process of guiding and directing teaching and learning to improve
“Educational outcomes” for all students. Educational leaders influences and
manage the pedagogical goals and vision to promote teaching and learning. The
headmaster of a secondary school is the leader of the institute. So as an
organization, the success of a secondary school depends on its effective
combination of management and leadership.
I complete my secondary school from kashipur M.L high school. It is located at
phulbari upazilla under kurigram district. Our school has contained 400 students
and 30 teachers. Like other our school has an management system ,where the head
teacher play the main role to fulfill the goal He was the leader and manage the

activities of the educational organization. Later I will discuss the organizing and
management initiatives critically that was taken by my school manager.
Description of specific organizing and management
initiatives in the school:
As an executive of educational institution, the headmaster of the school has to
perform many functions and play many roles in different roles in different
situations. To be succeeding the headmaster as a manager facing some critical
situations, this is usually different from one another. To holding such situation
manager uses their own management style. Some management style may be
effective for one situation and some may not be. Awareness of different types of
management style would help the managers to handle different situation in optimal
way.
The secondary school in Bangladesh, as an educational institute, has some specific
goals and purposes. There is some organizational structure in every institute. TO
fulfill this goals and purposes every kinds of organizational structure cannot able to
play a vital role. There are some organizational structure such as-line
organizational structure, line and staff organizational structure and functional
structure etc. For facilitate learning our school management has a management
structure and that was formed by head-teacher, school subject teacher, assistance
head-teacher and school managing committee .However the headmaster plays the
main role in here. The organizing and management initiative of my school are cited
below-
Initiative for facilitating learning: Our school management has taken some
measures for facilitating learning. The headmaster and school managing committee
is very serious about issue. They make sure that all the teacher was fully engaged
with his teaching-learning activities. Our headmaster & school management
committee arranged monthly meeting about the advancement of teaching-learning
process. The headmaster is also very serious about their exam and evaluation
system. They always try to give their best effort in this issue.

Communication with guardians: The headmaster including with other
teacher and school management committee arrange a monthly meeting with all the
guardians of the students. They discussed with all the guardians about the
advancement and downfall of their children .The headmaster try to make them
understand about their downfall and requested to take necessity steps for their
overcome.
Co-curricular activities: Every year our headmaster arranges different types
of co-curricular activities. They arrange annual sports, cultural function, debates
and various types of other co-curricular activities .This types of co-curricular
activities helps students to expand their knowledge area and develop their
knowledge area and develop their various skills.
Help for poor & brilliant students: Our headmaster along with the school
managing committee established a fund named “Ramzan Tahabil” from the name
of our past headmaster and founder of our school. This fund was raised by some
local person by donating money. The authority uses the fund for the help of poor
and brilliant students.
Set-up a computer lab: Dr. selim uddin , the former student of our school,
donate some money for our school. The authority established a computer lab by
this money. Every students of our school are able to use the computer lab to enrich
their skill and computer learning. By using the lab they can afford to combine their
learning with ICT integrate.
Set-up a science laboratory: Our headmaster and school managing
committee also set up a science laboratory for the science students of our school.
Its plays an important role to gain practical knowledge of students. It is very
helpful for our science students to gain scientific knowledge. Students can learn
their theoretical knowledge practically by this science laboratory.
Study tour: As a part of learning activities study tour is very essential for
students. Our school arranges a study tour every year for all the students of our
school. It expresses their knowledge of learning.
These are the organizing & management initiatives that are taken by our school
authority.

A literature based template of 5-8 key factors in changing
my school: School development is a systematic approach to change at the
school level design to guide to guide and focus a school towards the achievement
of its mission –enhanced students learning. There are some barriers of every school
development and our school have some . One of them is poverty. Because of
poverty most number of students is droop-out every year. The reason is
superstition .Some family is very religious minded that they cannot want to sent
their daughter in school. But now-a-days these types of problem are no longer
remaining. The barrier is early marriage. This is mostly affected our educational
system. It is also gradually decreasing .Also now-a-days tuition system is also a big
problem. Some teachers are more attentive in their private sector than school
teaching .Its affect our school learning too much. Also this problem is not so big
problem. Our Headmaster and school managing committee play an important role
to solve this problem. They are always aware to remove these types of problem.
There are some enabler or factor those are very important to develop secondary
school. This are described below-
Effective leadership: Effective leadership is the main factors that’s are able to
make a school develop. The head-teacher is the main teacher in a school with the
help of other teacher and school managing committee he makes implementation of
his plan, rules and regulations in a school. He has to make sure an environment that
from where a student can learn. He has this ability to influence the other teacher so
that they engaged to their learning .
Create organizational culture: A school must have its effective culture .The
head-teacher must create this to facilitate learning. School culture is the set of
norms, values, and beliefs and rituals and ceremonies ,symbols and stories that
make up the “persona of the school” .-says dr. kant. Dr.Referson says that- school
culture also encompasses more concrete issues such as the physical and emotional

safety of students, the orderliness of classrooms and public spaces or the degree of
which a school embrace and celebrate racial, ,ethnic and other diversity.
Staff management: Staff management is also very important for a school to
achieve its goal. Without effective management of its staff, a school cannot meet
with his aim. Every school needs to have system that help create the condition for
staff and students to work effectively together.
Establishing goals and expectations: Establishing school goals and
expectations is also very important to develop it. Planning is the thinking
procedures doing .It means setting goals and objectives for an organization and
preparing plans and schedules to accomplish those goals .Strong manager can plan
well and effectively communicate the planning with their employees. Goals is also
helps the employee to develop the knowledge skills or abilities that they need in
order to improve their ability to do their work.
Resourcing strategically: As a leader the headmaster should use their
resource strategically. When identifying and obtaining resources leaders in high
performance school:
 Use clear criteria that are aligned to pedagogical and
philosophical purpose.
 Ensure sustain funding for pedagogical priorities.
Planning, coordinating, evaluating teaching and curriculums: When planning,
coordinating, teaching and curriculum leaders must be aware of-
 Provide active oversight and coordination of the teaching
programmed.
 Observe in classroom and provide feedback that teacher
describe as useful.

 Promote collegial discussion of teaching and how it
impacts on student’s achievement.
So it can say that by adopting aforementioned measures a leader can develop a
secondary school.
Critique the change factorsinitiatives: Some initiatives must be
taken by the leader of a school for developing it. An effective school is both an
educational movement and body of research which examines school based factor
which positively influence learning outcome. Every school must have some factors
that enable to provide great output.
The initiative that are taken by my school is not adequate enough for a develop
school. There are some lacking. Staff management in my school is not appropriate.
Our headmaster can not build a perfect environment & relation with other teacher
that can facilitate our course of study. Besides our leader cannot able to built a
strong communication with its community. It is must for every school to build a
strong communication with its community to achieving its goal. Our school
authority is also cannot afford to planning, coordinating and evaluating teaching
and curriculum. Curriculum leads a education system . This is the main difference
between an effective leadership, management of a school and our school.
However, the initiatives that taken by our school leader that have some strangeness
and some weakness. Some initiatives are helpful for creating a friendly teaching
environment and some of the initiatives cannot afford to meet its highest goal.
The Co-curricular activity that is taken by our school authority is excellent. It
creates strong skills to all the students .Besides other work such as set-up a science
laboratory, set up a computer lab, helps to the poor students-is also great initiative .
It is the strong point of our secondary school.
Besides this it has also some weak points. This is very harmful for all students to
achieving its goal. There are some lacking in planning, coordinating and
evaluating teaching and curriculum.
Acquiring of educational goal is mostly depends on its planning, coordinating and
evaluating teaching and curriculum. Besides this there are some weakness in use

the resource strategically. The headmaster should also also make a strong
communication with the school community. A school is greatly influence by its
community. The school must have use some teaching strategy to facilitate the
study of the students. The teacher must make a teaching plan for his lesson . There
are some weakness of our school in this process.
However, except this weakness our school has great initiatives for their students to
make such an environment from where a student can learn.
Conclusion: A secondary school is the most important institute of a country
that influences a lots of students learning. A secondary school should be an
effective school because “Effective school is both an educational movement and
body of research which examines school based factors which positively influence
learning outcome. Beside effective school management needs who succeed in
charring out the organizational goals of their school.
From my aforementioned critic I came to know that the success of a secondary
school depends on some activities that are taken by its manager or headmaster. The
most important thing for a secondary school is its leadership .The leader must be a
prudent person who is able to make a great environment from which a students can
learn. Besides this a headmaster must maintain a good relationship with its
community. The headmaster must establishing goals and expectation of its school
that inspires him to fulfill his goal. The leader is also remove all lacking from its
school. The headmaster must planning, coordinating, evaluating teaching and
curriculum. Besides the whole education system depends on its curriculum. The
leader as well as the headmaster should also maintain a strong staff management
for attaining its goal. So at last it can be said that if a leader or a headmaster want
to achieving its highest goal of its school he must adopted these aforementioned
initiatives.

  • 4. 4 Introduction: A secondary school is a very important educational institute in a country that influences learning outcomes of secondary school students. An effective school is a school was successful in educating students of all backgrounds, regardless of socio-economic status or family backgrounds. A secondary school must requires a managers who success in caring out the organizational goals of their school. We knew a school manager as a headmaster. A secondary school is a organization in this sense that an organization is a structure operate by group of individuals who are working together towards a common goal. As a organization secondary school has some goals and objectives. To fulfill this goals and objectives, the overall management system has to play an important role in a secondary school. The headmaster plays the main role in this process. He must be afford to manage all the activities that held in a secondary school. He must have the ability to create such an environment in school from where every student can learn. The success of a secondary school depends on skilled management system. So management system is very important for a secondary school. The term is leadership. It is very important and a part of management. In institute like secondary school success mostly depends on skilled leadership. Bush ,Robinson and others says- educational leadership is a primarily concerned with the educational process of guiding and directing teaching and learning to improve “Educational outcomes” for all students. Educational leaders influences and manage the pedagogical goals and vision to promote teaching and learning. The headmaster of a secondary school is the leader of the institute. So as an organization, the success of a secondary school depends on its effective combination of management and leadership. I complete my secondary school from kashipur M.L high school. It is located at phulbari upazilla under kurigram district. Our school has contained 400 students and 30 teachers. Like other our school has an management system ,where the head teacher play the main role to fulfill the goal He was the leader and manage the
  • 5. 5 activities of the educational organization. Later I will discuss the organizing and management initiatives critically that was taken by my school manager. Description of specific organizing and management initiatives in the school: As an executive of educational institution, the headmaster of the school has to perform many functions and play many roles in different roles in different situations. To be succeeding the headmaster as a manager facing some critical situations, this is usually different from one another. To holding such situation manager uses their own management style. Some management style may be effective for one situation and some may not be. Awareness of different types of management style would help the managers to handle different situation in optimal way. The secondary school in Bangladesh, as an educational institute, has some specific goals and purposes. There is some organizational structure in every institute. TO fulfill this goals and purposes every kinds of organizational structure cannot able to play a vital role. There are some organizational structure such as-line organizational structure, line and staff organizational structure and functional structure etc. For facilitate learning our school management has a management structure and that was formed by head-teacher, school subject teacher, assistance head-teacher and school managing committee .However the headmaster plays the main role in here. The organizing and management initiative of my school are cited below- Initiative for facilitating learning: Our school management has taken some measures for facilitating learning. The headmaster and school managing committee is very serious about issue. They make sure that all the teacher was fully engaged with his teaching-learning activities. Our headmaster & school management committee arranged monthly meeting about the advancement of teaching-learning process. The headmaster is also very serious about their exam and evaluation system. They always try to give their best effort in this issue.
  • 6. 6 Communication with guardians: The headmaster including with other teacher and school management committee arrange a monthly meeting with all the guardians of the students. They discussed with all the guardians about the advancement and downfall of their children .The headmaster try to make them understand about their downfall and requested to take necessity steps for their overcome. Co-curricular activities: Every year our headmaster arranges different types of co-curricular activities. They arrange annual sports, cultural function, debates and various types of other co-curricular activities .This types of co-curricular activities helps students to expand their knowledge area and develop their knowledge area and develop their various skills. Help for poor & brilliant students: Our headmaster along with the school managing committee established a fund named “Ramzan Tahabil” from the name of our past headmaster and founder of our school. This fund was raised by some local person by donating money. The authority uses the fund for the help of poor and brilliant students. Set-up a computer lab: Dr. selim uddin , the former student of our school, donate some money for our school. The authority established a computer lab by this money. Every students of our school are able to use the computer lab to enrich their skill and computer learning. By using the lab they can afford to combine their learning with ICT integrate. Set-up a science laboratory: Our headmaster and school managing committee also set up a science laboratory for the science students of our school. Its plays an important role to gain practical knowledge of students. It is very helpful for our science students to gain scientific knowledge. Students can learn their theoretical knowledge practically by this science laboratory. Study tour: As a part of learning activities study tour is very essential for students. Our school arranges a study tour every year for all the students of our school. It expresses their knowledge of learning. These are the organizing & management initiatives that are taken by our school authority.
  • 7. 7 A literature based template of 5-8 key factors in changing my school: School development is a systematic approach to change at the school level design to guide to guide and focus a school towards the achievement of its mission –enhanced students learning. There are some barriers of every school development and our school have some . One of them is poverty. Because of poverty most number of students is droop-out every year. The reason is superstition .Some family is very religious minded that they cannot want to sent their daughter in school. But now-a-days these types of problem are no longer remaining. The barrier is early marriage. This is mostly affected our educational system. It is also gradually decreasing .Also now-a-days tuition system is also a big problem. Some teachers are more attentive in their private sector than school teaching .Its affect our school learning too much. Also this problem is not so big problem. Our Headmaster and school managing committee play an important role to solve this problem. They are always aware to remove these types of problem. There are some enabler or factor those are very important to develop secondary school. This are described below- Effective leadership: Effective leadership is the main factors that’s are able to make a school develop. The head-teacher is the main teacher in a school with the help of other teacher and school managing committee he makes implementation of his plan, rules and regulations in a school. He has to make sure an environment that from where a student can learn. He has this ability to influence the other teacher so that they engaged to their learning . Create organizational culture: A school must have its effective culture .The head-teacher must create this to facilitate learning. School culture is the set of norms, values, and beliefs and rituals and ceremonies ,symbols and stories that make up the “persona of the school” .-says dr. kant. Dr.Referson says that- school culture also encompasses more concrete issues such as the physical and emotional
  • 8. 8 safety of students, the orderliness of classrooms and public spaces or the degree of which a school embrace and celebrate racial, ,ethnic and other diversity. Staff management: Staff management is also very important for a school to achieve its goal. Without effective management of its staff, a school cannot meet with his aim. Every school needs to have system that help create the condition for staff and students to work effectively together. Establishing goals and expectations: Establishing school goals and expectations is also very important to develop it. Planning is the thinking procedures doing .It means setting goals and objectives for an organization and preparing plans and schedules to accomplish those goals .Strong manager can plan well and effectively communicate the planning with their employees. Goals is also helps the employee to develop the knowledge skills or abilities that they need in order to improve their ability to do their work. Resourcing strategically: As a leader the headmaster should use their resource strategically. When identifying and obtaining resources leaders in high performance school:  Use clear criteria that are aligned to pedagogical and philosophical purpose.  Ensure sustain funding for pedagogical priorities. Planning, coordinating, evaluating teaching and curriculums: When planning, coordinating, teaching and curriculum leaders must be aware of-  Provide active oversight and coordination of the teaching programmed.  Observe in classroom and provide feedback that teacher describe as useful.
  • 9. 9  Promote collegial discussion of teaching and how it impacts on student’s achievement. So it can say that by adopting aforementioned measures a leader can develop a secondary school. Critique the change factorsinitiatives: Some initiatives must be taken by the leader of a school for developing it. An effective school is both an educational movement and body of research which examines school based factor which positively influence learning outcome. Every school must have some factors that enable to provide great output. The initiative that are taken by my school is not adequate enough for a develop school. There are some lacking. Staff management in my school is not appropriate. Our headmaster can not build a perfect environment & relation with other teacher that can facilitate our course of study. Besides our leader cannot able to built a strong communication with its community. It is must for every school to build a strong communication with its community to achieving its goal. Our school authority is also cannot afford to planning, coordinating and evaluating teaching and curriculum. Curriculum leads a education system . This is the main difference between an effective leadership, management of a school and our school. However, the initiatives that taken by our school leader that have some strangeness and some weakness. Some initiatives are helpful for creating a friendly teaching environment and some of the initiatives cannot afford to meet its highest goal. The Co-curricular activity that is taken by our school authority is excellent. It creates strong skills to all the students .Besides other work such as set-up a science laboratory, set up a computer lab, helps to the poor students-is also great initiative . It is the strong point of our secondary school. Besides this it has also some weak points. This is very harmful for all students to achieving its goal. There are some lacking in planning, coordinating and evaluating teaching and curriculum. Acquiring of educational goal is mostly depends on its planning, coordinating and evaluating teaching and curriculum. Besides this there are some weakness in use
  • 10. 10 the resource strategically. The headmaster should also also make a strong communication with the school community. A school is greatly influence by its community. The school must have use some teaching strategy to facilitate the study of the students. The teacher must make a teaching plan for his lesson . There are some weakness of our school in this process. However, except this weakness our school has great initiatives for their students to make such an environment from where a student can learn. Conclusion: A secondary school is the most important institute of a country that influences a lots of students learning. A secondary school should be an effective school because “Effective school is both an educational movement and body of research which examines school based factors which positively influence learning outcome. Beside effective school management needs who succeed in charring out the organizational goals of their school. From my aforementioned critic I came to know that the success of a secondary school depends on some activities that are taken by its manager or headmaster. The most important thing for a secondary school is its leadership .The leader must be a prudent person who is able to make a great environment from which a students can learn. Besides this a headmaster must maintain a good relationship with its community. The headmaster must establishing goals and expectation of its school that inspires him to fulfill his goal. The leader is also remove all lacking from its school. The headmaster must planning, coordinating, evaluating teaching and curriculum. Besides the whole education system depends on its curriculum. The leader as well as the headmaster should also maintain a strong staff management for attaining its goal. So at last it can be said that if a leader or a headmaster want to achieving its highest goal of its school he must adopted these aforementioned initiatives.
