5. Theme or focus of images
When I was researching these photographs witch a photographer took. I
found that he gave each photo a meaning. Each crystal represents a
different mood of part of the earth. For example the photograph of the red

6. crystal represents'Stoned Love' which means as you read, love. Another
crystal which is different shades of blue and purple represents the sea and
water. I think by each photograph having a meaning behind it is a good
factor to include in photography as it relates to a wide audience, different
people may relate to a certain crystal more than another. Also crystals are
used in general to create calmness and cleanse the soul. It’s obvious the
main focus of these types of photographs is the crystals. As that seems to
been the dominant and only image within the frame. The theme of these
photos would be emotions, nature and life. As the images to me are
presented as strong and bold, through how they look and what they mean.
Lots of colours and shapes have been used which makes each photograph
unique and have their own individual beauty.
Composition
The composition in each photo taken Is very similar almost the same. As the
photographer wants the audience to focus on the dominant image she includes
nothing else in the frame. Just a bare and minimal background draws attention to
anything that includes brighter colours in the frame. Almost every single photograph is
closely shot, so the detail shows within each crystal. This is the best shot to use as the
image is clearer and we recognise straight away what the photographer is trying to
set out attention on.
Techniques usedThese photos have been made to look sharpened. This is an easy
effect to achieve and can be used on software such as photo shop or even online
editing websites. The sharpness of the photographs makes them look more clear to
see, and a higher quality on a whole. The photography has also almost dragged
colours into each other, as they look almost melted or connected. This could also be
achieved on Photoshop and requires skills and knowledge of the software to achieve
this pretty effect.
Strengths & Weaknesses
In my opinion these photographs are very inspiring as each photo has a meaning
behind it, which a wide range of audience would relate to. They all have a strong
theme which is emotion, nature and life. All strong factors within our world. The
photographer also uses a drastic amount of colour, different shades and tones seem
to create a more enticing look on the photos. To make a slight change I would
maybe put description In small font want the meanings are of each photo. So the
audience know without having to research. The photographs create a very isolated
feeling, as the crystals are alone nothing is beside them. This is a strength as again it’s
a strong emotion to include in photography.
