Marketing Plan:
Introduction:
Our product is a short film, it is a comedy centred on two contrasting
characters, and their eventful journey to school. Throughout there is
slapstick humour, much in the style of Charlie Chaplin, our short film is
in black and white.
FOX Movies, DreamWorks, Universal Pictures are the production
companies that I would confront if I wished to publish ‘Monday Morning
Madness’-my short film. I would insure that they knew the focus groups
of the target age thoroughly enjoyed watching the short film. This
production of ‘Monday Morning Madness’ would be brilliant shown in
front of other, full length production of the same genre; it may get the
audience in the correct frame of mind for watching the following film.
Strengths and Past Successes:
We recently did a focus group asking our target audience what they
thought of our product; feedback was good, highlighting that we had
aimed our production at eh right age group.
Your Audience:
Our audience is 14-19 year olds. We researched into what type of short
film they would more likely watch, comedies seemed most popular
amongst this age group. I found that comedies are a favourite amongst
this age group, it lightens their mood and they can often relate to things
that are happening.
Life Style Marketing:
We have limited resources, many of our scenes are set in houses and on
the street, there is no real need for excessive sets, props etc. Through
research and focus groups we found that our audience enjoy watching
films that they can relate to, therefore enabling us to keep set, etc
minimal; the comedy comes from facial expressions and ‘accidents’
rather than props.
Our target age is 14-19, many people in this age group are not in the
position to purchase expensive magazines and films, therefore we insist
that our short film ‘Monday Morning Madness’ will be easily accessible
to our target group. Allowing our short film to be shown before films
almost as a warm up act would be a good way of distributing our product.

Graphics and Branding:
With our short film, like many other comedies I have researched we will
have a tag line; this will be present both on the magazine, poster and at
the beginning of the short film.
