Product’s Purpose:
What is the product’s purpose (entertain/educate etc.) and how will you achieve this?
The product is a game designed to entertain its user which will be achieved through its fast
paced gameplay and its retro look.
Genre:
What sort of product is it Horror/Arcade
Content
What is your product about? Discuss what you would put in it (be specific). Does it have a story? If
so, discuss it here
My product is an arcade type horror game that consists of avoiding and running from ghost
like enemies.
Audience:
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc
Why would your project appeal to this person? My product is aimed at malesaged 12-16 as the
game is not too difficult and not so scary. The game will also appeal to anybody that takes
an interest in fast paced arcade games.
Research and Planning:
What elements of your research and planning will you use in your final production?
Where will you use your research and planning in your final production?
The elements of research and planning that I am going to use in my final product are similar
fonts and colours to the games that I researched. The colours used in the types of games
that I researched are very dark as the setting is supposed to be unsettling as they are all
horror games.
Legal & Ethical Considerations:
Think about any offensive material you will include? Perhaps violence is the only thing that I am
including that could possibly be offensive to some people.
Will you restrict younger people using/accessing it? Users are informed of the age rating before
playing.
Will it offend any social groups/religions/ethnicities? My product will not offend any social
groups.
How will you ensure you do not offend anyone? Does not include any discrimination of any
king and no religious content.
Are you using characters/names/logos of existing products/IPs? Character designs will be my
own original creation, influence from previous games with things like props and
background designs.
Will you product be sufficiently different from existing products to not get sued for copyright
infringement? I will design my game characters to be original designs but the gameplay can
be similar to many other products in this specific genre of video game. Props and
background will draw many influences from existing products but will be unique enough to
avoid any complications will copyright.
