Brand Identity- The brand identity of this magazine is happy and cheerful which makes the target
audience feel more involved. It is considered a gossip music magazine which makes the audience
feel as though they’re in the lives of a pop star. The same masthead is used all the time making it
stand out and noticeable as it never changes.
Top of the Pops magazine is very conventional to the target audience, on the front cover, the
contents page and the double page spread, the same sans serif font is used, which links the pages
together. The serif fonts on every page shows the informality of the magazine off, and how it is
provided for a much younger target audience.
Every page in every magazine is extremely cluttered which shows it is full of information. The way
everyone is smiling shows it is a very friendly magazine, it uses fashion which show it is a fashionable
magazine, which also draws the eye of a young, female, teenage audience. Every page follows the

optical area is usually the masthead, which is always placed in the same area. In the terminal area, it

House Style- In the Top of the Pops magazine, the font is the same in every issue for the masthead,
this makes it much more recognisable to the target audience and easier for them to find in the shop.
On all of the front covers, contents pages and double page spread they use two different types of
font, serif font and san serif font. The san serif font shows which parts of the magazine are more
sincere and show how they are more important. The serif font is much more soft and friendly, this is
used is every issue and shows the much more happy side to the magazine.
Mode of Address- The colour of the magazine shows the femininity, this is used in every issue of the
magazine and shows it is a happy, fun, fashionable and friendly magazine. Every front cover is
packed with images to give the impression that the magazine is filled with interesting
gossip/information.
