2. The Teaser trailer
One of the genre types shown in the trailer is 'coming of age'.
The genre is being communicated through the trailer by the
narration of the main character. The use of this makes it seem
like a series of diary entries throughout the film. It has been
used as a selling point for the film as the target audience (14+)
can relate to the problems in the film.
There is some typical
iconography used the video such
as the car scene where the girl is
standing, shows a sign of
recklessness
.
The main setting for coming of
age films are high schools as
teenagers spend most of their
time at school.
Another setting is the bedroom
(as it a stereotype that teens
spend a lot of time in their
rooms) and a school dance which
can be seen in the video
3. The posters
There are some clear similarities between
the first poster and the film trailer. They
use the same font in the trailer as they do
here to link the poster to the film.
As well as this, on both posters they have
'We are infinite' which also links back to
the trailer.
The use of the bright colours such as
green, yellow and blue give the film a
fresh, youth-like feel which can relate
back to one of the genres.
We can see a typical convention and a
theme in this coming of age film as on the
poster as the girl is leaning her head on
one of the boys, it could suggest that
there is a love interest featured in the
film.
