2. Mind Maps/Brainstorms
Star by using the first few slides to create mind
maps and or brainstorms for ideas related to
your project. Get as many possibilities as you
can.
Don’t worry about practicality, suitability or
potential at this stage. You will assess the ideas
later.
7. Idea Evaluation
Which of your ideas do you want to develop further? Explain why you think that is
the right idea to take forward.
I would like to develop the website ideas mainly as I feel it would be more important
to the charity that I have decided to work with, as they have claimed that they really
wish to have a website to be able to use instead of anything else as the others
(leaflets and posters) that they have already still work well for them at this time.
I do feel as though, at my skill level, it would be quite hard to install the ordering
section of this idea, as I do not feel it would be easy to learn in the time that I have,
and also may not be the easiest thing for the staff there to learn, as they mostly use
paper records for everything for easy and compatible working. Although, I feel that I
may be able to do the rest of the things that I have listed, and will be trying to
achieve that.
8. Development
• Development should include mood boards or other visual
examples of work. It could include basic mock ups of your
vision for the project using the work of others.
• These don’t need to be the same quality as your finished
pieces but they a good indicator of where your project is
going.
• As this is not final work, it may include work from others.
• You could include test work or practice work here too to
further develop your skills.
9. Developed Idea 1
I am planning create this website with a Twitter feed, as that is a social media that
they do keep updated regularly, and also a link to their Facebook as many people
use that to contact them and get their information. I also hope to be adding a few
different blog sections almost to be able to keep the customers up to date on
events and possible things happening in York in general and possibly with the
company specifically in order to help them keep it easy to access and read.
I would like to add a stock section to their website in order to help the customers
know what is possibly available to hire and so, as well as being able to ask the
staff for recommendations for each individual, they would also be able to have a
look into it for themselves and find what it is that they would maybe need.
Along with this section, I feel it may be useful to add a couple little video tutorials
into the different areas for some of the most common questions, which I have
personally found to be rather difficult to explain simply with words.
10. Mood Board These 3 colours are
picked directly from
their logo.

embedding a
video.
15. Assessment of final ideas
I feel that my ideas are appropriate and suitable for my audience, as it will be
simple, and user friendly as many of the users of my client are slightly less
experienced with digital technology.
I also feel that this will be fulfilling my brief as my client has asked me to
produce a website for them that will be usable and an improvement on their
current one that they use.
I feel this will be practical for my timescale as it will be mainly just a few
pages on a website, that will be slight explanations and I will have to have a
day or so on location of their work and so that I can get the images required.
To me, this sounds like a very manageable task. And a few things that I am
hoping to implement, will be able to be kept updated over time and so I am
mainly just making a starting point for the company to expand upon as they
feel necessary.
16. Production Schedule
I know my client company is open Monday to Saturday, and my main contact
will be there, mostly, on the first 3 days of the week, so if I wish to visit it
will mainly have to be on those days. She will also be available to contact
on all other days of the week also, with little limits on timing, as I happen
to work closely with her on many things.
My deadlines and feedback should be at least at the end of each week I think.
I will send the work done so far to my client and, with my knowledge of
them, will be able to get feedback within 3 days of sending, so that will
allow me plenty of time to analyse any changes and make them in my first
lesson back after the weekend.
17. Resources
I feel, the main resource I should need will be the computer.
I will also need to use a video camera though, for creating my video
tutorials, and possibly a voice recorder for the voice over's.
I will also require a photo camera for the stock images and such that I
wish to include.
This could be replaced with a phone camera though if need be, as I have
personally got a phone with a camera quality quite high, and similar to
that of a photo camera.
I will also need a website creating programme/site to be able to create
this whole idea as I would like to make it for my client.
