Digipak mock p 1,2,3
1. Digipak mock up 1, 2 and 3
For my first digipak mock up I followed typical conventions
that I have seen on the market when carrying out my market
research during the planning stage. I mostly took inspiration
from on the album covers from a London artist called ’Mabel’
because we have similar demographics. I found that most
covers featuring a female artist was often a close up or mid
shot and they were looking directly into the camera. For this
reason I chose to use a mid-shot. I tried to use the same colour
scheme as my magazine album advert so that my product
seemed like one brand. I choose to create three very different
styles of digipak so I could see which one my ‘mainstream’
audience would prefer. This has a very urban feel to it which I
thought would draw in my audience
because people living in urban British areas was my target audience.
From my audience feedback I found that 45% of the people I asked
preferred this cover.
This is what one of the images inside the digipak would look like. I
used bright text and tried to subvert from the typical images people
would use. From my audience feedback I found that the majority
liked the image as it was bright and stood out easily.
For my second mock up I tried to make I seemas if it was
a Polaroid. As I have a mainstream audience, due to
Polaroid’s being on trend I thought it would be an
attractive feature. I changed the colour of the text
compared to my other digipaks because my audience
said that it would feel more personal because it is hand
written. This style of digipak was more vintage than the
first one and tried taking inspiration from artists such as
‘Taylor Swift’ who used this as a theme on her album
and it was very popular. As my target audience is
females I thought that the colours would draw them in
more and seeing people such
as ‘Ariana Grande’ who use it
have a huge female
following.
2. My third mock up used more bright and neon colours.
Based on my audience feedback I will not use this
versions because my audience felt it didn’t relate to the
theme of the album.
