2. VIDEO CAMERA
To film our music video I used a
video camera. In our previous AS
media portfolio project we used the
same camera so we were all very
familiar with how it worked. This
camera is very handy in terms of
size, although sometimes the image
quality is lower than we would want it
to be.
3. TRIPOD
I used a tripod for when we wanted the
camera to be completely still and steady
for certain shots. You can adjust the
angle and height of the camera
according to what shot you want. An
example of one of the shots we used
the tripod for was the low-angle shot to
demonstrate the authority and power
the singer had. A camera is not the only
object that a tripod can hold; it can hold
a flash units and reflectors to provide
the right lighting.
4. APPLE MAC
I used an Apple Mac computer to
create and design our website. It
enabled me to add my research,
planning, construction, production and
evaluation pieces of work that I had
made for our coursework. Once all of
the filming was finished I then used
the Apple Mac to edit and add the
finishing touches to finalise our music
video.
5. CAMERA
I used a digital camera to take
photos for the digipak front cover
and the digipak advert. This type of
camera produces high quality and
professional-looking pictures. I also
used the camera to take photos of
the different locations that we were
filming in for the location list.
6. LIGHTS
The studio that we filmed our performance
parts of the music video in had stage
lighting. We used this to create a more
professional and finished look on the video
clips. It enabled us to generate different
effects such as single spotlights and
coloured lighting. The lighting also helped to
create the effects we wanted when we were
taking the pictures for the digipak cover and
advert.
7. IMOVIE HD
For the editing process, I used
iMovie HD which is a popular
Apple editing software. This
editing software enabled me to add
effects, upload clips, split clips, and
add transitions and titles to my
music video. It was simple to use
and I enjoyed editing the video on
this software.
8. WIX.COM
Wix.com was the website I used in which
to create our website. I uploaded my
research, planning, construction,
production and evaluation of our music
video onto the website. It allowed me to
be creative and design a website style
that I wanted for our portfolio. The
website was simple to operate and had
all the features/effects I wanted to add.
9. YOUTUBE
I used YouTube for the research, planning
and production of the music video. When
researching music videos to analyse and
compare, I looked on YouTube and used the
videos from the site for my website. This
helped when analysing the music videos as
it made them more accessible and easier to
write about. They can now be viewed as
examples on my website. When all the
music video construction and editing is
finished the music video will be uploaded
onto YouTube so it can be viewed and put
onto the website.
