Future PLC is the 6th largest media corporation in the UK, founded by Chris
Anderson. Future PLC publishes more than 30 magazines on featured things such as
Video games, Technology, Film, Photography, Sport and Music. Future is the official
magazine to the company Nintendo. Futures target audience is for the younger
generation, they want to aim for the future things that will inspire and catch the
younger target audience’s eye, with doing this they publish things they are instead
in such as video games and sports. This target audience is mainly aimed males
because of what they advertise, and the market has around 7-8% they do not
publish as much music magazines as they are connected with Nintendo which is a
massive games company and that’s how they make most of their money by
advertising the new Nintendo games and Nintendo consoles. The target audience
mainly wants publish of films, Video games and photography. This is because they
can see prereleases of this stuff as the magazine is close with the games industry.
With this they also create enough room for their other target audience the woman
by adding things like technology and films, generally woman watch this as they have
more free time of what the media portrays them as and because most younger
teenage girls are on their phones a lot they also watch films a lot whilst on their
phones. Future PLC is guaranteed to keep high placements with the companies they
also work with.
3. BAUER
Bauer is a German company who has the main publisher Yvonne Bauer. Their
products they produce are large magazines they have produced 600 magazines,
over 400 digital products and 50 radio and TV stations around the world. They
feature things such as Music, Radio, Tv all the type of older target audience. Some
of the other things they are alongside with is Music, Absolute Radio and many
others, they are widely known as the UK’s most influential media brand network
meaning that they produce so much online and about the media for older target
audiences they have around 50% of the target audience although it’s because they
sponsor a lot of the smaller types of brands. They are mainly media based and has
an eye for the older target audience because of some of the music. Each year Bauer
publish around 30-40 magazines which last year sold over 65 million copies, the
main audience for this were adults averagely 18-55 whom mostly dominated by
females. Bauer is a worldwide company and has a lot of different stations around
the world that help produce these magazines and to find the best things such as
new hits and more music in the different countries. Bauer also features some special
interviews about festivals and other things about music, this is their main category
they advertise the music industry as there are a lot of people who listen to the music
they are also with ranging why their audience is 18-55 as it has the old range music
as well.
4. BBC MAGAZINE
The BBC magazine is a company located in London in the UK the main publisher is
Tom Bureau. The issues are released every month and both Warner and the
publishers of the BBC work together create this magazine. Along with music
magazines they also publish other magazines like fashion, the news and many other
interesting things that happen. BBC tries catch the latest news feeds and always
wants to get the best latest updates on everything. BBC also has news and weather
channels they put on at specific times. They produce 12 magazines a year as they
produce monthly about the biggest updates that happen within the month. The BBC
has around 9% of the target audience around the UK as they also produce different
magazines such as Top Gear, Match of the day, CBeebies and many more that also
feature on TV. Although the target audience is 9%, this is because magazines such
as CBeebies are not recognized by the BBC making it. The main target audience for
the BBC is 12+ this is because this comes to the age where people are old enough
to understand the news; also the audience is for generally everyone so it applies to
both male and females. With this wide range of audience they always put something
for all ages in their magazines. In music magazines they normally show and talent
the new top biggest hits in the world and they focus this to all audiences especially
the ones that are interested in pop.
