What kind of Media institution Might
distribute your magazine and why
 Due to your magazine being brand new to the market we will need to take
out market research and find a suitable media institution to distribute our
magazine. We will need. When we are looking for the right media
distributor we will need to consider a number of things. First we will need
to make sure that they are portraying our magazine as positive as possible
and making sure that the people we indented to read our magazine are
made aware of our magazine. After extensive research we have come to
the conclusion that we are going to analyze Bauer Media group and BBC
Worldwide.
Bauer
Bauer media group manages more than 600 Magazines , 50 radio stations and 400 Media products.
The company is a European based company which means that our magazine could not be restricted
to the U.K if the magazine is a success which we believe that it will be , Bauer has the potential to
distribute our magazine to over 14 countries .
Bauer are responsible for Kerrang , Karrang is one of the biggest
music magazines to date. Due to the high success of Karrang this
gives us great confidence that Bauer media are very much in synch
with the Magazine industry. Also due to them producing other
types of media there a number of ways in which our magazine can
be marketed to our customers. But on the other hand there is one
negative… This is that Bauer dont have much experience in the hip
hop industry which means they may be unexperienced in this feild.
BBC Worldwide
 BBC Worldwide is the U.K’s biggest media institution. The positives to this
is that after our market research we find that our majority of our target
market are going to be the youth of the U.K. So the BBC may well be the
perfect media group for us seeing that they have a lot of media platforms
that we can use to our advantage. But on the other hand there a some
negative affects to this media institution Firstly the BBC is mostly U.K based
so there are limitations to the expansion of our magazine and means that
we may run into issues further down the line. Secondly the BBC don’t have
much work with music magazines so they may be inexperienced and may
result in them struggling to support the magazine. So For this reason I feel
that Bauer would be the best option when it comes to this magazine.
Conclusion
 In conclusion I feel that Bauer is the best option when it comes to our hip
hop magazine. Even though BBC does have some very strong aspects and
platforms to offer but when it comes down to it Bauer have been
responsible for Karrang is a hugely successful music magazine. BBC seem
to focus more on the radio aspect of media and may struggle to off the
support our new magazine getting the stone rolling.
