What research methods (e.g. primary, secondary, qualitative, quantitative) did you use when completing the
assignments in year 11 for Unit 9 (Photography Techniques) and Unit 18 (Advertising) ?
Unit 9: We used a range of techniques including:
• Primary –questionnaire- audience feedback
• Focus group – audience feedback
• Secondary- Internet – photographers/ photographic/techniques
• Quantitative – questionnaire audience feedback
• Qualitative – questionnaire focus groups
What research techniques (e.g. using the library, the internet, watching videos, reading info, recces, practises,
plans etc) did you use when completing the assignments in year 11 for Unit 9 (Photography Techniques) and Unit
18 (Advertising) ?
During unit 9 photography we used the internet in order in order to find inspiration for different types of
photography e.g. a photography magazine website called Haim magazine. We went out around the school to find
inspiration for certain genres of photography; during this process we also took various photos for a range of
topics.
For unit 18 we used the internet in order to look at and evaluate specific advertising techniques. We also
researched ON the internet marketing companies such as Saatchi and Saatch. We also looked at a rang e of
advertisements for inspiration for our own advertisement . In addition to this we researched specific products in
order to get ideas for our adverts and also our gum packaging.
