Hitachi Data Systems has US-wide opportunities for entry-level sales people who want to break into the technical arena. <br />The Associate Sales Rep is a support and learning focused role, with main responsibilities in pipeline development, lead nurturing and generation, and working with Sales Reps and Managers to transition leads when appropriate. While this is initially a support role, it can lead to a Sales Rep position within a territory, the channel or named account. The Associate role allows you to learn about our products, our people, hone your sales skills and build relationships within the team and company.<br />The ASR will also actively participate in learning and career development activities such as formal training courses in our technologies and sales methods, systems and tools. Teamwork is also important for the overall success of the group.<br />What you need for success <br />Bachelor's degree or combination of education & experience required; technical degree preferred<br />Minimum of 2 years of sales/marketing support - telemarketing/telesales may be considered. B2B sales experience or IT-related experience preferred<br />Demonstrated high level of communication skills (verbal/written) and proven ability to work with all levels of people as well as the professional polish to handle both wins and rejection<br />Proven organizational and follow-up skills; flexible to change with the business yet independent enough to work with minimal supervision<br />Demonstrated leadership skills, yet seeks advice or information when needed – ability to learn from the entire system<br />Experience with MS Office & contact management databases<br />Ability to travel for training events<br />Highly self motivated – possess the internal drive to stay on task even without direct guidance<br />Competitive mindset – the drive to win is important, and in balance with our HDS values and culture of partnership, relationship building, ethical behavior and ownership of results<br />“Tough” minded – able to handle rejection in a professional manner, deal with disappointments, yet keep pursuing<br />Continued learning attitude – past success in learning complex materials and successfully applying that learning.
