2. Software Skills
From the production of my magazine some of the skills that I have
learnt and also that have improved from the production is my
software skills. My skills on using software such as Microsoft
Publisher have improved. The skills that I have improved and
developed from using this programme a lot throughout
production is my photo editing skills. From learning and using
this programme to edit photos I have improved and now know
how to do things I didn’t know how to do previously.
3. Photography Skills
Throughout my production, my photography skills have
improved majorly. From using a camera to take pictures for
my magazine my knowledge of types of shots that can be
taken has improved and also from this I have learnt what
locations are best suitable for your purpose.
I have learnt and improved my skills on how to vary the type
of shots that I take for each different part of the magazine
and also learnt about what props to use to ensure it is
conventional.
4. Photo Editing Skills
During my magazine production, I had to edit
photos that I had taken and make them
look more professional and also more
conventional for the genre of my
magazine. Some of the ways that I edited
them was through cropping images,
changing the light and also changing the
contrast of the images.
Throughout production I used 2 different
programmes to edit my photo’s, which
are:
• Microsoft Publisher
• Adobe Photoshop
5. Typography Skills
From my production, I have used different websites to ensure that I have
conventional fonts throughout my magazine to ensure it is appealing and
suitable for the target audience. I used two different websites to find the
fonts that I need, these were:
• DaFont
• Font space
These websites have allowed me to use fonts that convey and connote
happiness and femininity, which the pop genre is all about.
6. Skills that I have learnt:
Overall, from my production of my magazine I have learnt many new technological
skills, these skills are:

I am able to take photographs with the correct and most suitable shot for its
purpose. Add a suitable effect through lighting to make the image look
conventional.
Improved my editing skills through cropping my images to ensure they look
professional.
I have also improved my typography skills through using the font websites, I have
now learnt what fonts are conventional for the genre of pop and why.
