What have you learnt about technologies from the
process of constructing this product?
2. Adobe Photoshop CS3
• This is the main form of technology I used to construct my magazine pages
including the layout, editing of images and overall magazine product. Prior to
studying media studies I had no experience using Adobe Photoshop, this meant
my skills were minimal and basic. After practicing, watching tutorials and
listening to and following guidance I got to grips with the software and
created my final magazine so that it looked professional and marketable.
• Throughout my whole magazine I used Photoshop to edit the images that I
chose to include so that they fitted into the professional theme and did not
have any faults. To do this I used the selection tool to select the image on my
front cover and change the brightness, contrast and colour of my image. I did
this so that it was more vibrant and stood out more. I also used the brush tool
to match the colour of the two models skin as Katie was incredibly pale and
Emiliese more tanned.
3. Image editing
These three images show the process of image editing I went through on Photoshop.
Firstly I changed the colour levels of the images I thing adjusted the contrast and to
make change the redness of it I changed the brightness of the image so that it was the
colour I wanted it to be. This was important as it was vital that I manipulated my
images so that they were professional enough for my magazine.
4. Cutting out an image
• This screen shot shows the process of cutting out one of my images. I
used the select tool to highlight the models (zooming in and
inversing it to correct any faults/go over buttons, eyes etc.) I then
moved it to another plain background so that I could chose the effect
and style of it.
5. Other technology I used…
• Throughout the process of creating my magazine I have used a
number of different technologies to present my research, planning
and construction. These include:

• These all enabled me to present my media work in a more exciting
creative way.
