2. The majority of people who took this survey were between
the ages of 45 to 54, this is not necessarily the age range
that I would expect the music video to attract as around
the 18 age mark would be ideal for this music video. With
there being this many older people watching the music
video it would suggest that there may be more negative
feedback because they wouldn’t understand the music
video or find it to different to their normal music tastes.
The fact that there were more females than males
answering the survey does not really make any difference
however it is a bit strange as I would think that more men
would be into this type of genre however it might just be
because of the people I gave the survey to.
3. I am very pleased that almost every one that
watched the music video said that they liked it, I
feel this is a good representation of the audience
views that I would get due to the facts that there
are so many different age ranges and answers
from both a male and female audience. I also think
that to have no ‘no’ answers is also a positive
think because not sure implies that they didn’t
understand or know what to think which isn’t
entirely negative.
4. I am glad that pretty much everyone thought that
the music video suite the genre of music. I thought
that throughout the filming and editing process I
tried to create something that was along the lines of
a heavy metal/rock music video and I was very happy
with the outcome.
5. After looking at all of these comments
I have found out that a lot of people
think that I need to improve the
opening sequence by increasing the
lengths of the quick cuts and removing
the zoom in, however I feel that this is
what makes the video fit my genre and
although it was commented on I
believe that it makes the video better.
Another point which is obvious to me
and the audience is that the second
half of the lip syncing is still a little bit
out which ruins the flow of the video.
6. I can agree with a lot of people
that there are some shots of the
actor singing where she looks like
she is having trouble with her hair.
It is very difficult to film something
like this with lots of energy and not
have problems with the hair and
props getting in the way of the
face etc. I also think that the shot
with the street corner also looked
a bit tacky and I think that with
further cutting I could make it look
more professional. Also I have
taken on board the fact that a few
people thought the shots should
be longer however I think these
short shots add uneasiness to the
music video and I think that it
works really well in making people
feel uncomfortable.
7. There are lots of different points that people have
chosen for the parts that they have liked the best, this is
a good thing as they all find something that they like
about the video whether is the smashing of the TV or
the actors lip syncing performance with her expressions.
People recognised the symbolism used in the music
video as well as the atmosphere and editing techniques
which they comment are really engaging and well done.
8. The fact that nearly everyone thought that
the video was engaging was really helpful,
I think this helps to give a positive review
of my music video and shows me that
people would continue to watch it even if
it wasn’t their type of genre of music.
9. I’m very happy with this outcome, almost everyone said
that the performance and narrative aspects of the video
matched with the lyrics which is what I was hoping for.
The people that didn’t know if it did probably didn’t
know very much about this type of genre and how they
usually create videos. This is really positive feedback as it
shows that my ideas for the music video worked well
with the song so that everyone could recognise that they
were meant to be together.
10. Its very exciting to see that lots of people would watch this music
video again because they think its really exciting and engaging. I
understand about people who say that its not to their tastes which
is understandable but I'm glad that the majority of people said
that they would watch it more than once. It obviously means that
the music video is somewhat successful.
