-emia
This suffix is a noun that means a substance is
present in the blood, especially in excess.
Some medical terms that contains this suffix are
hyperglycemia, hypoglycemia, hypercalcemia,
hypocalcemia.
3. HYPERGLYCEMIA AND HYPOGLYCEMIA
HYPERCALCEMIA, HYPOCALCEMIA.
Hyperglycemia: means high blood sugar levels.This can also

diseases

are: adrenalitis, colitis, carditis, etc.
5. ADRENALITIS, COLITIS, CARDITIS
Adrenalitis: Is the inflammation of either one or both adrenal
glands.This can lead to an insufficiency of epinephrine or
norepinephrine.
Colitis: Is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease that causes
inflammation in the digestive tract (the inner lining of the
colon).
Carditis: Is inflammation of the heart.
