1. Audience Profile
The song I have chosen is The Noose by A Perfect Circle. This song is in the genre
of Alternative Metal.
From my audience research I can see that the majority of the audience is aged
between 16-20 and male. Also, the genres enjoyed by the majority of people are
rock, pop and metal. These genres tie into our song as the song is alternative
metal, which is a sub-genre of metal and a variation of rock. The song is also
quite a slow, melodic song that could appeal to fans of pop music.
The reason the majority of people watch music videos is to either get a meaning
from them or to just simply pass time.
This is Michael. He’s a 22-year-old man who is
currently working in a shop that sells second hand
guitars. He enjoys his job as it gives him a chance to
work with music, something that is a big part of life.
As well as selling the guitars, he is responsible for
fixing any broken guitars brought in by customers. At
home he keeps a collection of CD’s and records within
various music genres, but most of them are Rock or
Metal CD’s. Some of the artists he enjoys the most are
Rush, Tool and A Perfect Circle. Michael really likes to
get into a song and really try to figure out it’s
meaning. Therefore, when watching music videos he
likes to see a narrative; something that can tell him
what the song means.
In order to find out about music he hasn’t heard before he asks his friends about
bands they listen to.
