TEXT
- A text is generally
considered as written
material especially longer
pieces of writing as in a
book, a letter, or a
newspaper.

- A group of ideas put together
to make a point or one
central idea.
- It is made up of sentences. It
also deals with cohesion.
Example:
DISCOURSE
- Originally, the word discourse
comes from the latin word
discursus which denotes
conversation, argument or speech.
- Text with distinct features and
purpose.

- Formal and lengthy discussion of a
topic where concepts and insights
are arranged in an organized
manner and logical manner.

normal conversations. This is

We live in a time where knowledge and skills are needed to navigate an increasingly complex society. From a young age, we are exposed to various texts and discourses that aim to teach us important lessons and expand our understanding. Whether through books, classes, or conversations, the ideas we encounter become interwoven in a connected discourse that shapes our thinking.
