Employment History:
• April 2010 – Feb 2012 Project Manager, Saudi Bin Laden Group.
Project Manager of the King Fahad National Library, Riyadh.
Works consist of a $90 million re-furbishment and new extension to the existing library. On completion it will
house around 2.4 million books and many national archives and treasures. Existing library works include
part demolition of the present structure and has a floor area of 27,000m2. The new extension has a floor
area of 40,000 m2, and envelopes the existing building which is connected by various bridges. The project is
surrounded by a new 32,000m2 urban plaza included in the contract. As Project Manager the responsibilities
include:
o The complete day to day running of the site
o Employee welfare and safety
o Producing progress reports for client
o Ensuring the project runs to schedule and Budget
o Report directly to the Area Manager
• April 2009 – Dec 2009 (completion). Construction Manager, Six Construct. Dubai.
o Construction Manager, Burj Dubai Tower – World’s tallest building (Client Emaar Properties).
o Responsible for the complete fit-out and handover, of all floors, from level 109 to the summit, including
the Chairman of Emaar’s executive office floors, ensuring all activities are carried out to the Global
Program
o Implement company Health and Safety Policy, ensuring all tasks on site are carried out within the policy
rules. Organise Safety Forums to raise awareness of safety issues on site.
Profile:
I recently rejoined Carillion and was assigned to their new operations in Saudi
Arabia.
With a wealth of experience and knowledge, in the fit out business, gained through
nearly 40 years in the industry and working on some of the most iconic and
prestigious projects throughout the world, served as a great asset when helping set
up the new Carillion operations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Currently involved at Al Dara Hospital and looking after the Fit-Out of Carillion
projects in the KSA.

o Organise day to day co-ordination of Joint venture staff and all sub-contractors. Make regular
inspections ensuring all finishes are installed to the standard expected by the client and to the
consultant engineer’s approval. Monitor sub-contractor progress with periodic factory visits, organise

o Carry out factory inspections of items to be installed.

o Liaise, directly, with the resident architect and ensure that any design changes are carried out to his

o Ensure that the finishes installed are of a quality and standard expected by the client.
o Deputise for the Project Manager in his protracted absence.
o Organize client /customer orientation and be directly responsible for the final, satisfactory handover to
the client.
o Ensure smooth operation, of all works carried out, during liability / warranty period.

contractors, attending site meetings and architectural meetings, reporting directly to the Managing Director.
• Dec. 2003 – Jan. 2005 Construction Manager / finishes ETA Ascon, Dubai. Bur Juman Centre Expansion
Project. To co-ordinate all sub-contractors, carry out factory inspections of items to be installed, co-ordinate
installation of all mock ups, liaise with and carry out architects instructions, attend site meetings and report directly to
the Project Director.
• Oct. ‘99 – Dec.2003 Clark & Fenn Ltd., part of the Kvaerner group. Installation of top end Gypsum cornice and
responsible for all Marble Plaster contracts, from their design through to final installation. Contracts included:

• July ’99 – Oct. ’99 Polished Marble Plaster, Burj Al Arab Hotel, Dubai. Main contractor Arabtec /
Kvaerner joint venture. Installed marble plaster finishes to the private dining restaurants, working closely with the
design team from K.C.A. International on the exact and unique finish installed in this premier landmark hotel.
• Nov ’98 – June ’99 New video conferencing centre, Bank of England, London. Main contractor Holloway White
Allom. Part of the John Laing group. Installed gypsum cornice to match existing and carried out extensive marble
plaster wall finishes.
• June ’96 – Sept ’97 Site Manager for Strabag AG., Hotel Adlon, Berlin. Re-furbishment of one of Europe’s
premier hotels. Responsible for the Dry Lining, Stud Partitioning and all polished marble plasters.
• Jan. ’96 – April ’96 Marble plaster, Magic Circle H.Q. London. Main contractor Bovis Lelliott
• 1986 - 96 Armourcoat Ltd. Specialist plaster contractors. Over 300 squash courts installed worldwide, including
many in the middle and far-east. Helped develop their range of Polished Marble plaster finishes.
