BRIEF PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
Since leaving school in 1975 aged 16 years old, I have been in employment with six different private
sector companies and covering five different industries namely Shell Boiler/Economiser Manufacture,
Glass Making, Food Packaging, Pneumatic Materials Handling Systems, Steel Plate Rolling Mills and
HVAC Systems.
For the last 25 years I have been working in Project Management, where I managed various sized
engineering projects from Sales Handover to full Installation, Commissioning and Handover to
Customer. My main duties included, but were not limited to the following tasks:
• Attend initial Sales Handover meeting with the sales team and the necessary internal resources
to agree project scope and timescales.
• Preparation of Project Plan and resource requirements to fulfil objectives of the project.
• Organize and attend regular design review meetings with the customer, internal departments
and sub-suppliers to ensure the project is adhering to the technical specification and
milestones set out in the Project Plan and take necessary actions to mitigate any identified
delays at the earliest possible stage.
• Take actions to mitigate any technical and commercial risks identified in project review
meetings.
• Ability to read and decipher engineering documentation such as GA drawings, plant layout
drawings, P&I D’s, PFD, FDS and basic electrical wiring diagrams.
• Work closely with Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Quality Assurance departments to ensure
full compliance with the Technical Specifications are met.
• Work closely with Finance department to ensure all commercial terms are adhered to in a
correct and timely fashion such as payment milestones, invoices, bank guarantees, letter of
credit and liquidated damages clauses.
• Control of project budgets using SAP system.
• Work closely with Purchasing and Shipping departments to ensure the correct delivery terms
are adhered to such as Ex-Works, FOB, CIF, DDP or DDU.
• Attend site to oversee Installation and Commissioning activities to ensure all aspects of the
specification are adhered to and also to ensure site activities are carried out in a safe,
organised and environmentally friendly manner.
• Ability to carry out Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS).
• Experience working on CDM projects.
• Organize and attend a Project Closeout meeting with internal departments, sub-suppliers and
the customer to analyse if the project was executed to the satisfaction of all parties.
During my time as a Project Manager I have gained extensive experience working with many different
cultures having worked with customers on an international basis having travelled to India, China,
Chile, North America, Russia, South Africa and many parts of Europe.

CAREER HISTORY
Oct 2014 to Date: Advance Climate Control, Sheffield
Project Manager – Contract Basis
Since leaving CBD in Aug 2014, I have been working on various
short term contracts including HVAC installations for student
accommodation and pre-fabricated office amenities buildings
for railway stations and tram stations throughout the UK.

Materials Handling
Engineering Project Manager, managing projects up to a
value of £25m
At CBD, I managed various major power station projects to
include a new ash slurry system in Serbia, a new dry ash
handling system in Slovakia, a new bottom ash handling system
in Taiwan, a new fly ash handling system in Germany and a
new biomass ash handling system at Drax power station. The
project at Drax included the installation of a new ash silo, which
needed new piling and pile caps designed and installed.
In May 2010 I was seconded on an 18 month contract with our
sister company in South Africa. The project was for the supply,
installation and commissioning of a fly ash system for a new
power station in the Mpumalanga region of South Africa.
Oct 2007 to June 2010: Siemens VAI, Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Plate Rolling Mills for Steel Industry
Project Manager, managing projects up to a value of £30m
At Siemens VAI, I managed two major projects. The first project was
for the supply, installation and commissioning of a reconditioned
steel rolling mill and steckel furnace in India. The second project was

mill in China.

Project Manager, managing projects up to a value of £3.5
At CMH, I managed a variety of small, medium and large projects in
various process industries. Some of the major projects that I managed
included a new copper concentrate transport and injection system in
Chile, a new copper concentrate and silica sand transport system also
in Chile, a new plaster transport system for British Gypsum in France
and a new coal transport and injection system for Siemens VAI in
India.

Projects I worked on during my time at Linpac, included the
installation and commissioning of four new automatic tray
sleeve machines at Featherstone plant and a new automatic
tray sleeve and bagging machine at St. Helens plant.
