For the canon campaign , Journey’s , I have decided to focus on the journey of the earth and
humanity progress through the years we have lived here and how our future is going to look
like.
I will show this by using the forest to represent the beginning of our journey, buildings new and
old ones to represent our progression through our journey and then flowers and newspapers on
fire to represent our future.
I want this print advertisement to be political and show people the journey our earth is currently
going through and if we don’t stop it, we will destroy the earth and everything on it.
Climate change is hurting the earth and we are helping it, younger generations will be the ones
to experience global warming the most and they don’t get a voice in it.
I want to bring awareness to more of the younger generations that climate change is not going
away and if we don’t change, neither will our future.
Canon is becoming a sustainable brand by having a 4-step system which allows them to have a
lighter carbon footprint on the earth and other business are inspiring to change too.
In order to get the desired effect, I decided to take many test photos in order to ensure I would
get the perfect photo for the journey’s campaign.

Experiment
For my first canon poster I decided the best photo should
symbolize the change of human evolution, what I mean by
this when we started to become more advanced. The forest
symbolizes our beginning, and the bridge symbolizes the
beginning of our evolutions.
For the first couple experiments with the poster, I decided to
edit in on old Viking map to add more texture to the poster
and I quite liked it as it filled in the space in the bottom and an
historic atmosphere to it.
I multiplied and soft light on the map to make it blend into the
bridge as it would be too harsh to have the original image in
it.
After adding the map, I added the logo, I changed the
positions many times such as having at the top and the
bottom, but they did not seem right as felt out of place from
the rest of the poster.
That’s when I decided that having the slogan in an arch over
the bridge to somehow connect them. I decided that this
would be the best placement for the logo and the slogan as it
is able to catch the audience's eye and tell them who the
business behind it is but also that the color is more of a darker
shade and has a soft light over it so you a see some of the
trees from the background to add more texture and blend it in
to the poster.

Experiment
For my second canon poster I decided to that this poster
would represent how humanity has changed and expanded
throughout the years.
The reason I chose this location is because it shows different
sides of the progression of where we are now such as on the
left side of the river shows humanity now and their
advancements whereas the right side of the river shows old
buildings built in the 1950s to 1980s. The bridge is able to
symbolize our progression through the time and how we have
been able to change.
For the first couple of experiments I created, I changes the
hue and saturation as I believed that I could make the image
more vibrant and look more eye catching for the target
audience, I did not change the placement of the logo or the
slogan because it was the best placement. For the logo I
changed the mode to a soft light so the clouds can be seen
through the logo, and I removed bots from the canon logo, so
it looks like as if it is behind the bridge.
After the logo I thought the bottom of the poster was to empty
and missing something. So, I decided that I should add an
old image of the old bridge which is hidden in the picture. I
did this by removing the top of the picture and changed the
mode to soft light in order to blend it into

For my third canon poster, I was able to take photos of a red flower
on fire to symbolize that the world is going to end like this that if we
don’t change.
For the first couple experiments with the poster, I changed the
lighting of the flower to give it more of darker tones and had the
bright red flame more intense to show how real this subject is.
I had placed the canon logos in different highest to give it a
different effect, but I decided that it would be better to have a bluer
or a darker color to show how the world is fading.
The two experiments I changed the backgrounds to red and a dark
blue to get different effect and decided that the black background
gives more attention to the flame and flower s it becomes brighter
than the background.
For my final edit I changed the saturation and hues to give it more
of a brighter glow to the flower and highlighted the edge of the
flower to give it more of a neon effect so it would stand out from
the dark background. For the canon logo I decided that it would be
best placed at the bottom so that it is more seeable and the I
believe the red would be a suitable color as it is very bright and
makes the flower look brighter. I kept the same type of font for the
logo, so it is recognizable by the target audience and now which
company is behind the poster.
