Bedroom –This location is the bedroom from my own home, this location will be the place
of transition from the UK side, the location will inhabit the main character as he has an
issue which causes him to go to sleep angry. I will record this during the night as there
wont be any natural lighting, seen as though the character will be going to sleep its fitting
if the only light comes from either the camera or bedroom light.The advantages of using
this location are that’s its easily accessible and reshoots can be easily performed. As for
negatives there really isn’t any as its very versatile and can be used in any way.
Hotel Room –This location is the hotel room the main characters will be staying in, the
main use of this location is for the character to wake up from the transition from the UK
and then the transition back to the UK.This location will be filmed in the morning for the
first transition and at night for the second transition. The location has the advantages of
the layout being a good connecting transition from the UK bedroom, however, a major
negative is the fact no reshoots can be done due to the location being abroad. This means
the shots I take have to be perfect first time or edited to a high standard.
3. Location Images Description
Indoor/Outdoor Swimming pools –These location will be used to create a real summer
feel within the music video, the swimming pools are a very good location to use as it
provides something for the audience to relate too. Swimming pools are a location many
visit and go to either when they’re on holiday or at the local leisure centre.This location
will be filmed during the day due to it linking to the codes and conventions with bright
lights and vibrant colours attracting the audience. The positives of using this location is
because it creates excitement and something for the audience to relate too. However,
once again just like the car the location is abroad inTurkey which means reshoots can be
completed.
Water Park –This location will be used to create a real summer feel within the music
video, the waterparks are a very good location to use as it provides something for the
audience to relate too.Waterparks are a location many want to visit and go to either on
holiday or when the sun is shinning. This location will be filmed during the day due to it
linking to the codes and conventions with bright lights and vibrant colours attracting the
audience. The positives of using this location is because it creates excitement and
something for the audience to relate too. However, once again just like the car the location
is abroad inTurkey which means reshoots can be completed.
4. Location Images Description
Car –This location will be used to create character to the music video, it makes a change
from the water parks and hotel rooms, it provides a more ‘chilled’ atmosphere for the
audience to view and feel.The location will be used for a moderate proportion of the music
video as there are many angles that can be accomplished when filming with the car.This
location will be filmed in the morning due to the sunlight and vibrant colours shinning
linking to the codes and conventions. The positives of this location is the fact many angles
can be filmed within it, the negatives are that just like the hotel room it was abroad and
the views were ofTurkey meaning no reshoots can be accomplished. This location is a
relatable one due to the idea of when a group of people go on holiday they’re most likely
going to want to hire a car instead of catching the bus to get to places. Within my intended
target audience the age bracket includes those of age that are eligible to drive making this
acceptable to be a relatable location. Lastly, due to the car being convertible having the
roof down gives the audience the feel of hot the locations environment is, the only reason
people drive with the roof of their car down is to feel the breeze when the weather is hot.
Furthermore this causes the audience to some other locations ofTurkey in the background
adding colour to the music video which connects with the codes and conventions of
dance/EDM.
5. Location Images Description
Lobby Bar –This location will be used in a way to show the audience the ‘end of the day’
side to the music video. This will also be a scene which leads on to going to sleep and
waking up in the UK.The use of this location is very minimal due to what it offers. The
lighting within this location isn't vibrant and bright which doesn’t link to the codes and
conventions and that atmosphere is very chilled. These to factors don’t correspond with
the codes and conventions of a dance/EDM music genre.This however allows me to
challenge them and show that although dance/EDM music videos are mostly upbeat, they
can still have scenes with a relaxing vibe. Additionally, its relatable to the intended target
audience who have been on holiday as they are most likely to have used and experienced a
lobby bar or any bar on the hotel site.
