2. Our Film Distribution
• A film with an incredibly small budget like ours would be distributed by a
distributor such as Vertigo films, an independent distributer.
Case Study:
Film: Monsters (Edwards, 2010)
Budget: Less than $500,000
Box Office: $4.2 million
Monsters is very similar to our film
in the fact that it has the same
target audience as our film and was
also produced with a very low
budget. Although the plots are very
different we can look at how that
film was distributed and see
whether it would work for our film.
Notable Films Distributed
by Vertigo Films:
• StreetDance 3D
• Monsters
• Walking on Sunshine
• Horrid Henry the Movie
• Point Blank
• Our film is also an independent
film due to several key factors
which are explained on the next
slide.
3. Our film was produced in
the style of an
independent film. This
was due to several key
points such as our very
low budget
STYLE OF OUR PRODUCTION
Skeleton Crew
No bankable

Use of Prosumer

4. STRATEGY TO CONNECT OUR FILM TO THE
AUDIENCE
The distributor of our film would mainly use Web 2.0 and
viral marketing to distribute our film as we have a very low
marketing budget and Web 2.0 is very cheap as it connects
through social media and Is directed at our target audience.
Online is where the majority of people will see our film as
young people invest a large amount of time online surfing
the web on using different social media platforms. Due to
our low budget we would be unable to consider print as a
form of promotion.
5. We would also use...
• As our film was produced as a small independent film the budget for marketing is
likely to be very small. However regardless of whether a film is low budget or not
the following assets are crucial to a successful film premiere-
P O S T E R S
6. Exhibition of Film
Our film would be shown at a
cinema like Curzon which shows
small art-house films like ours.
International film festivals are
another good way we could
promote our film for example-
